You have been hired as a procurement buyer for a company (you can include a real company or made-up is fine). The company needs to purchase office furniture for 50 new employees. Your manager ask you to choose a supplier quickly but responsibly, using basic buyer reasoning:

      • Quality/reliability
      • Supplier evaluation

1. List the types of furniture the company may need (Desk, chairs, tables, filing cabinets, etc)
2. Explain why clearly identifying what is needed is important (what specs, color, price range etc)
3. Describe how you would find and compare suppliers.
4. Reason why you chose that supplier (Price, quality, delivery time, reputation)
5. Explain why the lowest price may not always be the best option.
6. Identify a risk or concern (Operational risk, quality risk, compliance risk or strategic risk)

In order to receive full-credit you need to make sure that it is at least 1-2 pages, that it is double spaced, written in and that it has a work cited page, This assignment should be fun. You can even include pictures of the items you are buying or show pictures of the buying process. I look forward to reading what everyone comes up with and how creative you can make this.
