Performance Monitoring and Management Plan (75 points)
Assignment Type: Applied Project
Length: 56 pages (excluding cover and references)
Format: APA 7th edition
Sources: Minimum of 3 peer-reviewed articles on OBM or supervision
Link: Provide direct link to each reference of each article.
Purpose
The Monitoring and Performance Management Plan allows students to directly apply the principles of the OBM to a supervisory or organizational context. Building on the fundamental concepts explored in previous weeks, this paper focuses on designing a practical, data-driven plan to improve staff performance, supervisory quality, or organizational efficiency within an ABA context.
Students will identify a measurable performance behavior, describe an evaluation process, and design an evidence-based feedback and reinforcement system. This assignment will subsequently serve as the basis for the methods and intervention sections of the OBM Final Project.
Instructions
Select a performance target behavior:
Identify measurable staff or supervisory behavior that impacts client outcomes or organizational effectiveness (e.g., accuracy in data collection, timeliness in documentation, preparation of sessions, or adherence to treatment protocols).
Conduct a behavioral assessment:
- Specify how you would collect data on current performance (indirect, descriptive, or functional methods).
- Summarizes actual or hypothetical baseline data and its trends.
- Identify the environmental variables (antecedents, consequences, or context events) that maintain the behavior.
Design a performance management plan:
- Describe your intervention plan using OBM strategies such as feedback, reinforcement, goal setting, or self-management.
- Describes data collection tools (checklists, forms, charts, or key performance indicators [KPIs]).
- Define the measurement system, the frequency of monitoring and the personnel responsible.
It incorporates ethical and professional considerations:
- Reference relevant sections of the BACB Code of Ethics (2022).
- Discusses potential ethical or cultural factors in performance monitoring and feedback.
