As you read through the Required Unit Resources, pay close attention to your firms strategy, and write a case study analyzing the following points: Examine your firms internal strengths and weaknesses. How can organizational relationships improve performance in the firm? How does the firms growth fit into the firms mission and vision statements? Who are your firms competitors? Do you see your firms strategy as effective or ineffective? Why? Your completed case study must be at least two pages in length, and you must use your textbook as one reference, and the CSU library as a second reference. Constitutional Response to Unconstitutional Legislation
This assignment requires you to write a detailed five-paragraph essay exploring the system of checks and balances within the United States government when Congress passes legislation that violates the Constitution. Your paper should thoroughly analyze the constitutional mechanisms available to both government branches and individual citizens in responding to unconstitutional laws.
Essay Requirements
Your five-paragraph essay must address the following key components:
Paragraph 1 (Introduction): Begin with a compelling introduction that presents the scenario of both congressional chambers passing an unconstitutional law. Include a clear thesis statement that previews the actions available to the Executive and Judicial branches, as well as citizen responses.
Paragraphs 2-3 (Body – Government Branch Responses): Examine the constitutional powers and responsibilities of the Executive and Judicial branches. Discuss the President’s authority to veto legislation, issue signing statements, or refuse enforcement. Analyze the judiciary’s power of judicial review, established in Marbury v. Madison (1803), which allows courts to declare laws unconstitutional. Explain how cases reach the Supreme Court and the process of constitutional interpretation.
Paragraph 4 (Body – Citizen Action): Explore the various mechanisms available to you as a student and citizen, including filing lawsuits, participating in peaceful protests, contacting elected representatives, voting, supporting advocacy organizations, and raising public awareness through civic engagement.

Weekly Topic Writing Example (Full Points)
Group Focus: Technologies That Changed Warfare
Weekly Topic: The Stirrup
Course Theme: Warfare and Technology
The stirrup was a seemingly simple technological innovation, but it had a major impact on how warfare was conducted. First appearing in Central Asia and spreading into Europe by the early Middle Ages, the stirrup allowed mounted soldiers to place their feet securely while riding (White, 1962). This added stability fundamentally changed cavalry warfare by allowing soldiers to fight more effectively on horseback.
Before the widespread use of the stirrup, cavalry soldiers struggled with balance and control while attacking. Riders depended largely on their legs and core strength to remain on their horses, which limited their ability to strike with force or use heavier weapons. The introduction of the stirrup allowed mounted warriors to brace themselves while charging, striking with swords or lances, and absorbing impact from combat (DeVries, 2004). As a result, cavalry became a much more powerful and reliable force on the battlefield.
The stirrup also contributed to long-term changes in military organization and social structures. As heavily armored cavalry became more effective, warfare increasingly depended on well-trained and well-equipped mounted soldiers rather than large infantry forces. In medieval Europe, this shift supported the development of feudal systems, where land ownership was tied to military service provided by mounted knights (White, 1962). In this way, the stirrup influenced not only military tactics but also political and social hierarchies connected to warfare.
Over time, the stirrup helped transform warfare from battles where cavalry played a supporting role into conflicts where mounted soldiers were central to military success. This demonstrates how even a small technological innovation could produce significant change over time. The stirrup is an important example of how technology reshaped warfare by altering how soldiers fought, how armies were organized, and how power was distributed.
