    Exploration Case: Professional Ethics Resources

Management accountants live in the inner workings of a business, deep inside the numbers that

measure everything, where they shape, see, and understand the nature of the business and its

activities unlike any other role. As such, the exposure to ethical issues comes from all sides.

Management accountants must have a working knowledge of the ethical environment as a principle

player in avoiding trouble for all stakeholders. Our textbook does a nice job introducing the IMAs

ethical standards, and this case gives you the opportunity to dig deeper into two management

accounting associations to learn more about managerial accounting ethical resources, and to share

what you learn with your classmates.

Pick ONE of the following sites, then complete the assignment in that site.

    Go to https://www.imanet.org/career-resources/ethics-center?ssopc=1

    OR

    Go to https://www.cgma.org/topics/ethics.4.html

    OR

    https://www.ethicsboard.org/

Find a subject, feature, or anything that interests you within the ethics content of either resource.

Pick a small section, this should be short, easy, and should leave plenty of room for others to choose.

If your class activity is an online discussion board, pick a section of the site that no other

students have posted yet. It is wise to post your section choice first, then spend time writing

and post your content by the submission deadline. Duplicating topics results in a zero score.

If your class activity involves in-classroom discussion then make an effort to browse a bit

before selecting a topic to avoid too much duplication.

Write up a short report on your selection fulfilling these requirements:

    1) What you learned: Provide enough summarized detail so that other students can learn what you

learned from reading your report. This should be the longest part of your post, about 200 words for

just this section. No points will be earned for copying & pasting content.

Your report needs to provide learning to others who read it in order to earn your points.

Writing that a feature was interesting or offered useful information towards some un-

written end is not enough. Tell us WHAT you learned, more than just THAT you learned

something. Tell us the useful information you learned to benefit the reader of your post.

If your section has huge lists, pull out key items and provide detail on these key items. Dont

feel obligated to include everything; convey what matters most.

    2) Why it matters: Tell us why your section matters, what good it can do for people affected, and any

other meaningful result an interested person might expect to be described.

    3) Please provide a direct link to the web page of the item you are covering so the reader can easily

    find it.

  • Module 2 Discussion: Imperial Era and WI

    OPTION A:

American imperialism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries was driven by various factors and had significant impacts. Looking at Key Events and Territories: Examine key events and territories associated with American imperialism, such as the annexation of Hawaii, the Spanish-American War, and the acquisition of the Philippines, Guam, and Puerto Rico. How did these events shape the course of American imperialism? How did imperialism affect the United States economically, politically, and socially? What were some of the benefits and drawbacks of this expansionist period? Evaluate the impact of American imperialism on the countries and territories that were affected. How did American policies and actions influence their political, economic, and social landscapes?

    OPTION B:

The United States played a crucial role in World War I, with various factors leading to its entry and significant impacts resulting from its involvement. Looking at Factors Leading to U.S. Entry: What were the political, economic, and social motivations behind the United States decision to join World War I? Consider key events such as the sinking of the Lusitania, the Zimmermann Telegram, and President Wilsons concept of making the world safe for democracy.

    Grading:

    1. Word count: minimum 200 for post, 100 for replies (each)
    2. Examples from the textbook. Cite your work in MLA or Chicago.
    3. Critically think of the Material.
    4. Be sure to reference specific events, individuals, and policies discussed in the textbook.
    5. Engage with your peers by responding to at least two classmates’ posts, asking questions, or offering alternative viewpoints.
  • Math 123 Budget and Planning Project

Math 123 Budget and Planning Project

Managing your money is one of the most important life skills. Throughout this project, you will examine your

current spending habits, start planning for your future, and predict what effect your planned career will have

on your finances. The project should be your own work and be submitted through IvyLearn. All calculations

should be completed using Excel (i.e.: do not use your calculator and type the answer into Excel). Use the Excel

    template (.xls/.xlsx file) provided.

    Project check #1 (25 points)

    Submit your Excel File by:

    1. Use the excel file provided to outline your monthly expense budget. The budget should consist of

current and future budgeting items that you anticipate after you graduate from IvyTech. For example,

if you currently do not pay rent, you should include some sort of housing cost, including utilities, in your

future budget area. You should complete the 10 items listed (or modify them if they do not apply) and

then add at least 9 additional items (19 total). You may add the 9 additional items to any category. At

the bottom of your list, use the =sum () function to find the total of your monthly budget.

    2. Create a pie chart using the categories in your budget. Label the sections of the pie chart with the

names and %s of each category. Include a Title for your Chart. Write 1-2 sentences in the reflection

text box with observations from your pie chart. Use at least one % from the chart and explain what it

    means in real life.

    3. Create a bar graph (i.e.: column chart) for your monthly expenses. Include a chart title and labeled

axes. Write 1-2 sentences in the reflection text box with observations from your bar graph. Discuss at

least one category from the chart and explain what it means in real life.

    4. Use the =count (), =min (), =max (), and =average () functions to calculate your minimum expense

amount, your maximum expense amount, and average expense amounts. Write 1 sentence that

explains what each of these results means in real life in the text box provided. Use the numbers you

calculated and be as specific as possible.

    5. Write 2-3 sentences of general reflections. This should include any thoughts about specific expenses

and your overall impressions about your monthly budget.

    Project check #2 (25 points)

Turn in your Excel File by:

    1. Use an exponential formula to calculate the amount the maximum expense is expected to grow each

year for the next 20 years, assuming a 2.0% increase in inflation. Graph this information in a 2-D line

graph. Make sure to label your axes and include a chart title.

    2. Look up your future career at U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and use the 10% annual wage dollar

amount which can be thought of as a starting salary. Convert this yearly salary into a monthly salary. If

you share a household with a partner, add your monthly gross salary with your partners monthly gross

salary to find the total household income. If you do not share, type n/a in this box.

    3. Use your total yearly household income and the 2024 tax tables at the link below to calculate your

yearly and monthly tax withholdings. Morgan Stanley 2025 Tax Tables

    4. Subtract your monthly tax from your monthly gross household income to find your Monthly Household

Income after Taxes. Compare this to your total monthly budget. What is the absolute and relative

difference between your projected household income and your total household expenses?

    5. In the text box, reflect on your future: How will the price of your most expensive item change over

time? Will the career that you are pursuing meet your expenses? Write 2-3 statements using the

results of your calculations in this excel worksheet and explaining the implications of these calculations

    in real life.

    Final Project check (50 Points)

Turn in your Excel and Word Files by

    1. Adjust your monthly expense budget categories so that your total monthly expenses match your net

income after taxes. Make sure the net income roughly equals the expenses (with income being slightly

    greater).

    2. Take the amount you set aside for savings in your monthly expense budget and use Excel to find the

total of your 401K/IRA retirement account after 30 years with an average return of 5.5%. What is the

total of your deposits into this retirement account? What is the amount of interest that accumulated in

your account after 30 years? Use =NPER () to figure out the number of monthly periods you would

have to contribute money into your retirement account (with the same rate and deposit amount) to

have $500,000 in your retirement account. How many years is this?

    3. Most banks recommend that you pay no more than 25-28% of your household income for rent or a

home loan (including property taxes and insurance, which are included in the monthly loan payment).

Calculate 28% of your projected net household income (after taxes) to find what monthly mortgage

payment you can afford with your future career. Use the =PV () function to determine the maximum

Loan amount you could afford with this monthly payment and a 30-year mortgage at 3.5% APR. If your

lender requires you to make a 10% down payment for the home, what would be the total cost of the

home you can afford to buy with this loan? If the closing costs and loan origination fees are

approximately $3000, how much cash would you have to pay at the time of purchasing your home?

Reflect on how you would save this amount prior to purchasing your home and discuss it in your

    reflection paper below.

    4. In Microsoft Word, write a concise, 1-page (at least 3 paragraphs, double spaced) reflection paper analyzing

what you learned from the project activities, and how you plan to use it your financial decisions in the future.

The paper should be in sentence form with no grammatical errors. Please be reflective in the paper and talk

about what you learned about your budget, career, taxes, housing, Excel, etc. Any honest reflections are

    encouraged and expected. Some ideas:

o Explain your reasoning for your first monthly expense budget

o Discuss changes you had to make to your expense budget and your reasoning for making these

    changes.

o What is your future career? Discuss if/how it will allow you to meet your budget.

o Does your career allow you to live in your desired area? Use an online website, such as Zillow, to look

at the cost of homes in your desired area. Discuss how this will or will not meet your future housing

    needs.

o Do you think your retirement saving amount is enough to retire on? Why or why not? Reflect on the

amount that you will be contributing through your monthly deposits vs. how much interest you will get

    from the bank.

Three Es for writing deeper sentences using Quantitative Reasoning:

    1. Explain: blah blah blah, because ******

    2. Examples: blah blah blah, for example *****

    3. Evidence: Use specific statistics (numbers/calculations) from you excel file.

  • hukum indonesia

Berdasarkan UU No. 12 Tahun 2011, hierarkinya adalah:

UUD 1945: Hukum dasar tertulis tertinggi.

    Ketetapan MPR (Tap MPR).

Undang-Undang (UU) / Peraturan Pemerintah Pengganti UU (Perppu).

Peraturan Pemerintah (PP): Untuk menjalankan UU.

    Peraturan Presiden (Perpres).

    Peraturan Daerah (Perda) Provinsi.

    Peraturan Daerah (Perda) Kabupaten/Kota.

    2. Penggolongan Hukum di Indonesia

Secara garis besar, hukum di Indonesia dibagi menjadi dua ranah utama:

    A. Hukum Publik

Mengatur hubungan antara warga negara dengan negara (kepentingan umum).

Hukum Tata Negara: Mengatur struktur organisasi negara.

Hukum Administrasi Negara: Mengatur tata cara birokrasi dan aparatur sipil.

Hukum Pidana: Mengatur perbuatan yang dilarang dan sanksinya (termuat dalam KUHP).

    B. Hukum Privat (Perdata)

    Mengatur hubungan antarindividu (kepentingan pribadi).

Peradilan Tata Usaha Negara (PTUN): Menangani sengketa melawan keputusan pejabat pemerintah.

Peradilan Militer: Khusus untuk anggota TNI.

Mahkamah Konstitusi (MK): Lembaga independen yang bertugas menguji apakah sebuah UU bertentangan dengan UUD 1945.

    4. Unsur Pluralisme Hukum

  • the social determinants of health

    The social determinants of health

The social determinates of health include factors other than access to health care, such as socioeconomic status, economic stability, access to quality education, physical environment, support networks, employment, etc. Although efforts to improve healthcare within the United States usually point to responsibilities within the healthcare system, there is a growing recognition that these social determinants of health are also criticalfrom the individual to the population level.

As a DNP-prepared nurse, you will consider and address the social determinants of health when working with patients. Think about the ways in which this will positively impact your patients experiences and outcomes, as well as the communities you serve.

  • MOMA website and exhibits

My initial impression of MOMAs website was quite surprising as someone whos first time seeing the website. From just scrolling through the homepage, it was fascinating to find, see and hear the exhibits that are currently running. The website did not feel confusing or overwhelming, which surprised me because museums sometimes present information in a complicated way. Instead, MoMAs website felt welcoming and easy to understand, even for someone who does not regularly visit art museums online. The exhibits that are currently running at MOMA are A Retrospective by Ruth Asawa, Wifredo Lam: When I dont Sleep, I Dream, Ideas of Africa: Portraiture and political imagination, and Artists choice: Arthur Jafa-Less Is Morbid. What stood out to me was how different each exhibition felt, even though they are all part of the same museum. This showed me that MoMA does not focus on just one style of art, but instead highlights a wide range of artistic voices and perspectives. The themes of these exhibitions are sculpture, painting, photography and video. Each medium allows artists to communicate their ideas in different ways. For example, sculpture often focuses on form and space, while photography and video can capture moments in time or tell visual stories. This variety helped me understand how modern artists choose the medium that best fits their message. If I had to choose an exhibit that I would like to visit the most, it would be The Many Lives of the Nakagin Capsule Tower because it reminds me of how theres different paths that people can take in life. Before working on this assignment, I honestly did not spend much time thinking about museum websites or how they function. I mostly thought of museums as physical spaces rather than online ones.

    Intro to Federal Taxation

    Quiz

    Advanced Accounting Homework

    Chapter 1 Homework Assignment Questions

Exercise 1- 1 . Estimating Goodwill and Potential Offering Price.

Plantation Homes Company is considering the acquisition of Condominiums, Inc. early in 2020.

To assess the amount it might be willing to pay, Plantation Homes makes the following

    computations and assumptions.

    A. Condominiums, Inc. has identifiable assets with a total fair value of $15,000,000 and lia-

bilities of $8,800,000. The assets include office equipment with a fair value approximating book

value, buildings with a fair value 30% higher than book value, and land with a fair value 75%

higher than book value. The remaining lives of the assets are deemed to be approximately equal

to those used by Condominiums, Inc.

    B. Condominiums, Inc.s pretax incomes for the years 2017 through 2019 were $1,200,000,

$1,500,000, and $950,000, respectively. Plantation Homes believes that an average of these

earnings represents a fair estimate of annual earnings for the indefinite future. However, it may

need to consider adjustments to the following items included in pre- tax earnings:

    Depreciation on buildings (each year)

    $ 960,000

    Depreciation on equipment (each year)

    50,000

    Extraordinary loss (year 2019)

    300,000

    Sales commissions (each year)

    250,000

    C. The normal rate of return on net assets for the industry is 15%

    Required:

    A.

Assume further that Plantation Homes feels that it must earn a 25% return on its

investment and that goodwill is determined by capitalizing excess earnings. Based on

these assumptions, calculate a reasonable offering price for Condominiums, Inc. Indicate

how much of the price consists of goodwill. Ignore tax effects.

    B.

    B. Assume that Plantation Homes feels that it must earn a 15% return on its investment,

but that average excess earnings are to be capitalized for three years only. Based on these

assumptions, calculate a reasonable offering price for Condominiums, Inc. Indicate how

much of the price consists of goodwill. Ignore tax effects.

Exercise 1- 2: Estimating Goodwill and Valuation

Alpha Company is considering the purchase of Beta Company. Alpha has collected the

    following data about Beta:

    Beta Company

    Estimated

    Book Value

    Market Value

    Total identifiable assets

    $585,000

    $750,000

    Total liabilities

    320,000

    320,000

    Owners equity

    $265,000

Cumulative total net cash earnings for the past five years of $850,000 includes extraordinary

cash gains of $67,000 and nonrecurring cash losses of $48,000.

Alpha Company expects a return on its investment of 15%. Assume that Alpha prefers to use

cash earnings rather than accrual-based earnings to estimate its offering price and that it

estimates the total valuation of Beta to be equal to the present value of cash-based earnings

(rather than excess earnings) discounted over five years. (Goodwill is then computed as the

amount implied by the excess of the total valuation over the identifiable net assets valuation.)

    Required:

    A.

Compute (a) an offering price based on the information above that Alpha might be

willing to pay and (b) the amount of goodwill included in that price.

    B.

Compute the amount of goodwill actually recorded, assuming the negotiations result in a

final purchase price of $625,000 cash.

Exercise 1-3: Estimated and Actual Goodwill

Passion Company is trying to decide whether or not to acquire Desiree Inc. The following

balance sheet for Desiree Inc. provides information about book values. Estimated market values

are also listed, based upon Passion Companys appraisals.

    Desiree Inc.

    Desiree Inc

    Book Value

    Market Value

    Current assets

    $260,000

    $260,000

    Property, plant & equipment (net)

    650,000

    740,000

    Total assets

    $910,000

    $1,000,000

    Total liabilities

    $400,000

    $400,000

    Common stock, $10 par value

    160,000

    Retained earnings

    350,000

    Total liabilities and equities

    $910,000

Passion Company expects that Desiree will earn approximately $150,000 per year in net income

sidered to be the industry norm.

    Required:

    A.

Compute an estimation of goodwill based on the information above that Passion might be

willing to pay (include in its purchase price), under each of the following additional

    assumptions:

    (1) Passion is willing to pay for excess earnings for an expected life of five years

    (undiscounted).

    2) Passion is willing to pay for excess earnings for an expected life of five years, which should

be capitalized at the industry normal rate of return.

    (3) Excess earnings are expected to last indefinitely, but Passion demands a higher rate of return

of 20% because of the risk involved.

    B.

Comment on the relative merits of the three alternatives in part (A) above.

    C.

  • Windshield Survey Power Point Presentation

Create a slide presentation of the health promotion plan you developed in Assessment 1.

    Introduction

Health education is any combination of learning experiences designed to help people in a community improve their health by increasing their knowledge or influencing their attitudes (WHO, n.d.). Education is key to health promotion, disease prevention, and disaster preparedness. The health indicator framework identified in Healthy People 2030 prompts action in health services accessibility, clinical preventive services, environmental quality, injury or violence prevention, maternal, infant, and child health, mental health, nutrition, substance abuse prevention, and tobacco use cessation or prevention.

Nurses provide accurate evidence-based information and education in formal and informal settings. They draw upon evidence-based practice to provide health promotion and disease prevention activities to create social and physical environments that are conducive to improving and maintaining community health. When provided with the tools to be successful, people demonstrate lifestyle changes (self-care) that promote health and help reduce readmissions. They are better able to tolerate stressors, including environmental changes, and enjoy a better quality of life. Also, in times of crisis, a resilient community is a safer community (Flanders, 2018; Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, n.d.).

This assessment provides an opportunity for you to apply teaching and learning concepts to a hypothetical presentation of a health promotion plan.

Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. (n.d.). Healthy People 2030. https://health.gov/healthypeople

World Health Organization. (n.d.). Health promoting schools. https://www.who.int/health-topics/health-promoting-schools

    Scenario

In this assessment, you will develop your presentation of the health promotion plan based on the research you conducted for Assessment 1. You will plan the presentation for the community you focused on for Assessment 1.

You will resume the role of a community nurse tasked with addressing the specific health concern in your community. This time, you will present, via educational outreach, your health promotion plan you completed research for in Assessment 1 to your chosen community. In this presentation, you will simulate the presentation as though it would be live and face-to-face. You must determine an effective teaching strategy, communicate the plan with professionalism and cultural sensitivity, and evaluate the objectives of the plan. Please remember the nursing process. You must evaluate and revise the plan, as applicable, and propose improvement for future educational sessions. To engage your audience, you need to include any handouts with your presentation and a voice-over recording and speaker notes to communicate your plan.

    Instructions

    Complete the following:

Prepare a 1214 slide PowerPoint presentation with a voice-over and detailed speaker notes that reflects your presentation. This presentation is the implementation of the plan you created in Assessment 1. The speaker notes should be well-organized and submitted as a separate Word document. Be sure to include a transcript of the voice-over (please refer to the PowerPoint resources in the Academic Resources). The transcript must be submitted on a separate Word document.

Simulate the face-to-face educational session, addressing the health concern and health goals of your selected community individual or group.

Imagine collaborating with the participants in setting goals for the session, evaluating session outcomes, and suggesting possible revisions to improve future sessions.

The requirements outlined below correspond to the grading criteria in the scoring guide, so be sure to address each point. Read the performance-level descriptions for each criterion in the scoring guide to see how your work will be assessed.

Present a health promotion plan tailored for an individual or group within a community.

Tailor the presentation to the needs of your chosen community audience.

Adhere to scholarly and disciplinary writing standards and APA formatting requirements.

Evaluate educational session outcomes and attainment of agreed-upon health goals, anticipating potential input from participants.

How do you think participants would react to the session?

Which aspects of the session would you change?

How might those changes improve future outcomes?

Evaluate educational session outcomes in terms of progress made toward Healthy People 2030 objectives and leading health indicators (LHIs).

What changes would you recommend to better align the session with Healthy People 2030 objectives and LHIs?

    Additional Requirements

    Presentation Format and Length

You may use Microsoft PowerPoint or other suitable presentation software to create your slides (PowerPoint recommended). If you choose an application other than PowerPoint, check with your instructor to avoid potential file compatibility issues.

The number of slides in your presentation will be dictated by nature and scope of your health promotion plan. Title and references slides are required as follows:

    Title slide.

    Health promotion plan title.

    Your name.

    Date.

    Course number and title.

References (at the end of your presentation). Be sure to apply correct APA formatting to your references.

Remember to include a separate Word document of your speaker notes; this needs to submitted with your PowerPoint.

    Supporting Evidence

Support your plan with at least three professional or scholarly references published within the last 5 years, which may include peer-reviewed articles, course study resources, and Healthy People 2030 resources.

Be sure to proofread your PowerPoint presentation and speaker notes before submitting your assessment to minimize errors that could distract readers and make it difficult for them to focus on the substance of your presentation.

    Competencies Measured

By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and scoring guide criteria:

Competency 2: Propose health promotion strategies to improve the health of populations.
