    This is your first minor assignment. The focus is on using Photoshop techniques we discussed in class to map materials and textures onto surfaces in the attached drawing.

    Core Objective:
    Create a visually striking, well-composed, and highly legible drawing by adding depth, richness, and materiality to a raw perspective or line drawing. I encourage you to be creative with your stylistic choices, overall composition, and the way you interpret and apply textures.

    You are free to work in any aesthetic direction you prefer:

    • realistic
    • stylized / illustrative
    • abstract
    • conceptual / surreal
    • graphic / flat with texture accents
      or any hybrid approach that excites you.

    What you may include (encouraged when it supports your vision):

    • Text / typography
    • Icons, symbols, or graphic elements
    • Background image or environment
    • Any material textures (wood, metal, fabric, concrete, glass, organic surfaces, digital/glitch effects, etc.) you feel are appropriate

    Minimum requirement (required to pass):
    Every visible surface in your perspective drawing must be mapped with some form of texture or material. No unmapped / blank areas should remain on the main drawn elements.
    To aim for the highest grades:
    Go beyond basic coverage. Develop a clear concept, mood, or narrative and make intentional, cohesive decisions about:

    • material choices
    • lighting direction & shadow quality
    • color harmony
    • level of detail vs. abstraction in different areas
    • overall visual hierarchy and storytelling

    Think of this as an opportunity to transform a simple line drawing into a rich, atmospheric, and purposeful piece.Due date: Monday night (by 11:59 PM)

    When you submit your assignment, please submit TWO FILES:

    1- PHOTOSHOP FILE (so that I can open and see your layers)

    2- A simple JPEG image that you exported from your photoshop file that I can quickly open and see your result.

    If you fail to submit these two files, you will not be graded, so please make sure to submit both.

    Module 2 Evidence Portfolio

    In this module, you will submit a Module Evidence Portfolio that examines instructional delivery and engagement within adolescent literacy systems. This portfolio should document how instructional practices support student engagement, comprehension, and equitable access to literacy instruction.

    The target evaluation lens for this module is LAER Domain II Instruction.


    Portfolio Requirements

    Your Module 2 Evidence Portfolio must include all four sections outlined below. Submissions that are incomplete or do not follow the required structure will not meet expectations.


    Section 1: LAER Target Statement

    Identify the primary LAER domain and relevant indicators addressed in this module. Clearly explain how your instructional focus aligns to LAER Domain II Instruction.


    Section 2: Artifacts (Two Required)

    Submit two authentic artifacts drawn from your residency practice that demonstrate effective instructional delivery and student engagement.

    • Artifact 1: Instructional practice artifact
      (e.g., annotated lesson plan, observation notes, engagement strategy, instructional routine)
    • Artifact 2: Evidence of instructional impact or feedback
      (e.g., mentor feedback, student work samples [de-identified], instructional reflection notes)

    Artifacts must be clearly labeled and briefly explained to demonstrate alignment to the target LAER domain.

    Refer to the Acceptable Artifacts by LAER Domain page in Module 0 for guidance.


    Section 3: Leadership Reflection

    Length: 300400 words

    Write an analytical reflection aligned to LAER Domain II. Your reflection must:

    • Reference both artifacts
    • Examine instructional delivery and engagement strategies
    • Analyze how instruction supports adolescent literacy and equitable access to learning

    Descriptive summaries without analysis will not meet expectations.


    Section 4: Professional Action Step

    Length: Up to 200 words

    Identify one specific, actionable step you will implement to strengthen your instructional practice. Explain why this action step is necessary and how it supports growth aligned to LAER Domain II.


    Submission Format

    • Submit one document (Word or PDF)
    • Use the Module Evidence Portfolio exemplar as a guide
    • Ensure all student and school information is de-identified

    This assignment is evaluated for:

    • Completion of all required sections

  • Final Project: Math & Science Take Home Booklet

    Using information discussed, applied, and demonstrated via recorded lectures, alongside course readings, the teacher candidate will create a booklet suitable to be sent home with families to reinforce the principles of mathematics and science process skills in the home learning environment. The booklet may be created using the app or software program of choice.

    • Identify a specific grade level (use grade 3) and create two developmentally appropriate activities that identify, explain, and apply at least two principles of mathematics and at least two science process skills (one activity for each area– feel free to develop a variety to adequately address each).
    • Include a childrens book and app to align with each activity. Justify the use of each.
    • Align at least one Florida Standard (for grade 3) to each activity.
    • The booklet should be professional in appearance and family friendly, with a brief discussion or outline as to how each activity is developmentally appropriate for the young child (consider Piaget).

    Work must be original and contain APA citations as needed.
