  • Calculating confidence intervals

In this assignment, you will calculate confidence intervals for the quantitative variables in the Heart Rate Data Set. Steps Open the Heart Rate Excel Data Set and identify the quantitative variables. Make sure the data is sorted by category (e.g.male-at-rest, female-at-rest, etc.). Use the Data Analysis tools of Excel to construct 95% and 99% confidence intervals for all 8 categories of the sorted quantitative variables. Excel will calculate the margin of error given as the confidence interval in the output. Use this margin of error to create your 8 confidence intervals by both adding and subtracting it from the sample mean (calculated in unit 3). This creates a range of values that is the confidence interval. Create a Word document, and use your calculated results to explain what the confidence intervals tell us. What do these confidence intervals tell us about our heart rate data? How would you interpret the 95% and 99% intervals for resting heart rate? Compare the 99% and 95% intervals and explain why one is larger than the other even though we use the same sample mean value. Additional Instructions: Your assignment should be typed into a Word or other word-processing document, formatted in APA style. The assignments must include Running head A title page with Assignment name Your name Professors name Course Estimated time to complete: 3 hours
  • Executive Branch and Government Systems

Discussion Post Executive Branch: 1. Read Chapter 3. 2. There are three basic strategies for vertically organizing a countrys government. There is the Federal system used by the United States, where both the national and state levels have powers specific to their layer, powers denied to them, powers they share and some powers specific to the level. There is the unitary system used by Great Britain, where all power is held by the national government and any local government power is held at the whim of the national government. Finally, there are Confederations, such as the United States under the Articles of Confederation period or the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. Look at the three scenarios listed below and think about how each system might work, or not work, within each of the scenarios. You will then write a summary of one of the 3 scenario situations. You should have 3 paragraphs set up as the following example. Make sure you explain your analysis. Ex. Scenario #: Para 1: work or not work with Federal system. Explanation Para 2: work or not work with Unitary system. Explanation Para 3: work or not work with Confederations. Explanation Scenario 1: Four states at the end of a large, navigable river become alarmed when the water table drops due to states up the river system damming the tributary rivers and streams to provide water for their cities and towns, a water reserve the agricultural community can use for irrigation and the general population can use for recreational purposes. There is concern the large river may lose its navigability if present trends continue. Scenario 2: A local Save the Park organization forms to keep a small park and lake from being sold to a local university to be made into much needed parking for the university. Scenario 3: A Civil Rights organization is formed to improve the living and working conditions of a previously oppressed minority through the nation.
