    To Prepare:

    • Review the Resources and identify one change that you believe is called for in your organization/workplace.
    • This may be a change necessary to effectively address one or more of the issues you addressed in the Workplace Environment Assessment you submitted in Module 4. It may also be a change in response to something not addressed in your previous efforts. It may be beneficial to discuss your ideas with your organizational leadership and/or colleagues to help identify and vet these ideas.
    • Reflect on how you might implement this change and how you might communicate this change to organizational leadership.

The Assignment (5-6-minute narrated PowerPoint presentation):

    PEER POST:

Our unit is very large and employs over 90 full-time, part-time, and per diem nurses. More than 30 of these nurses have worked in our unit for 15-30 plus years. One can deduce that much of our practice variation may be due to the gap in reeducation and training once there are policy updates. One way to improve disbursement of new studies and discuss patient outcomes and care practices would be to have a pre-shift huddle with nurses to discuss unit and patient care issues. Evidence points to improved patient outcomes, decreased practice variation, and improved adherence to evidence-based practices when there is frequent continuing education and educational communication with the care team (Fontaine et al., 2024). This would also be a great way to evaluate my strategy success once implemented.

A short update on the thermoregulation policy would be discussed during the huddle and allow time for questions and comments on what struggles the nurses have been experiencing. A month after the reeducation, a follow-up discussion during huddle would address what improvements or challenges staff have noticed since reeducation on the thermoregulation policy. Next, a chart review of infants that have undergone transition to an open crib measuring success versus failure would be evaluated and compared to the prior month to substantiate the evaluation results. Using data such as weight, axillary temperatures and success/failure rates collected through a retrospective chart review, as outlined by Jacob and Casatelli (2020), will help confirm if the strategy was a success or not. Further dissemination of this strategy would be to provide the unit with the results of the weaning success through pre-shift huddle, email, and a printed version of the thermoregulation discussion and chart review results in the employee break room.

  • WEEK10 Assignement- Interprofessional Organizational and Sys…

Electronic medical records systems are not always available, so the importance of knowing how to write an accurate prescription on a prescription pad is imperative. Writing prescription medications is something you will be doing day after day, patient after patient. There are special considerations depending on the DEA schedule of controlled medication you are writing. This Assignment will start preparing you for this task and understanding.

Note: Written prescriptions for pharmacies may differ from chart orders for hospitalizations. For this Assignment, you are writing outpatient prescriptions for pharmacies.

Assignment #1 – Special Considerations for Patient Populations Paper:

Construct a paper concerning one of the patient cases listed below. Please choose the patient case that interests you, one will NOT be assigned. (hopefully the class is starting to see a pattern here!). In your paper include the following:

Determine which medication would be most appropriate to prescribe from the assigned vulnerable population patient case medication choices.

Explain your rationale for choosing this medication. Explain why the other medications listed are not appropriate for this patient.

Explain the dosing schedule for the specific patient including the therapeutic endpoint.

Provide necessary education to the patient to review risks, benefits, and potential side effects of the medication.

Describe any necessary labs or additional diagnostics needed prior to prescribing this medication.

Explain how you might monitor efficacy or side effects of the medication.

Include any additional collaboration or education to others that would be necessary for this patient. Consider family members, home health care, primary care providers, etc.

What would you need to include in your assessment for a patient who may become nonadherent with your prescribing plan for your scenario? What are alternative treatment solutions based upon how you assessed? Describe your new treatment plan.

This Assignment requires a minimum of five (5) peer-reviewed, evidence-based scholarly references outside of course resources.

Note: You will need to include the APA style formatting.

Reminder: The College of Nursing requires that all papers submitted include a title page, introduction, summary, and references. The

provides an example of those required elements. All papers submitted must use this formatting.

He acknowledges he is sensitive to this and can be irritable towards his children when they bring up these concerns. He was diagnosed with mild neurocognitive disorder after completing neuropsychological testing. Of the following medications, which would be the most appropriate to prescribe? Her partner is concerned and reports she is typically active and bubbly and enjoys the outdoors. She is diagnosed with major depressive disorder, with postpartum onset. She denies suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, or infanticidal ideation. No psychotic symptoms are present. She is nursing the infant and wants to continue this hoping it will assist with bonding with the infant. Med List: lithium, paroxetine, sertraline

Med List: quetiapine, duloxetine, fluoxetine

Patient 5: 27-year-old male with a diagnosis of schizophrenia. He has been hospitalized three (3) times in the past 1 year due to symptoms. When symptomatic, he becomes disorganized and paranoid. Topic sentences at the beginning of each paragraph are helpful in establishing the issue and argument for the reader at the outset. (40%) Engagement with the material. Entries are to be related to the reading material. They are not reviews of what has been stated in the book but are your critical analysis of the reading. Avoid direct quotes. Instead seriously take-up what you consider to be the key issues for the study of religion in the reading. An analysis of the issues discussed in the course become clearer the closer your writing is to the texts used in class. (40%) Creativity.
