Discussion 2
Discussion Board 2 This discussion board covers the information in Chapters 5, 6, 7, and 8. Before posting, be sure to carefully review the instructions and grading rubric in the syllabus and review the feedback left on your last post. For your initiator post, choose just one question from the end of one of the chapters. For example, there are five questions to choose from on page 119 in Chapter 7. Make it clear at the top of your post which question you are answering. Include your opinion if the question asks for it, and feel free to use the first person, such as “I think…” and “I believe…” A strong post will include moral theory in it, such as universal ethics, and make connections to the case study in the chapter. You must also include direct quotes and citations from the chapter(s). Again, review the instructions in the syllabus before posting. You may write your post in Word and copy/paste it into the Canvas text box, but do not use the attachment feature. You must post first to see the posts of your classmates. Your first post will be counted as your initiator post submission whether it is complete or incomplete. After you post your initiator post, don’t forget to come back and post your response posts (see syllabus instructions). You may use A.I. to help you study, but you may not use A.I. to write your post for you. Please email the instructor or teaching assistant if you have any questions. project design
Draft a one-page informal business proposal in which you first define the venture for which you are seeking investment to complete a proof-of-concept test. You are seeking an investment of $150,000 from a venture capitalist, and you plan to make a diagnostic assay test based on antigen-antibody principles to accomplish a medical diagnostic of your choice. You can choose a medically relevant topic of interest, such as a test for COVID-19 aimed at the detection of particular proteins, as long as the venture seeks to detect the presence or absence of infection in the body.
Your business proposal should include a high-level explanation of how this concept could work. Develop a schematic using inputs and outputs to show which indicators the assay is reading, and how it uses those indicators to decide the state of the readout being examined. You can use diagrams, figures, flowcharts, and whatever else comes to mind to describe your idea. You will include a breakdown of the budget, which may include several parameters such as product /development, research and development, and manufacturing costs. (Obviously, we’re not working with a lot of information as to how much things will actually cost, so don’t worry too much about being completely accurate with this budget; it is more of an intellectual exercise.)

Week 5 grant writing 2 parts what?
A grant writer works with a team or an agency to conduct grant writing for criminal justice initiatives.
So far, you have developed some of the components of the grant proposal identified to meet the need for funding the criminal justice initiative that you selected in Week 1. For this assessment, you develop the remaining components, revise previously completed components based on feedback, and compile your final grant proposal. While you are not required to submit your grant proposal to the funding organization you selected, it should be compiled in a way that it would be ready for submission to the organization if you choose to do so.
Assessment Deliverable
Write a 700-word executive summary to introduce the grant proposal that you have been compiling throughout the course as if you were a grant writer for an agency that supports the selected initiative. This summary will be the first item included in your proposal, followed by the components developed in Weeks 14.
In your executive summary, describe the key information from the components of your proposal in the following order:
- Describe the organization you selected and the project you are applying for. Summarize the needs statement and explain why the project is important to the affected community.
- Summarize what is included in the project activity and how it will be completed. Describe how you will evaluate the success of the outcome of the project.
- Summarize the total amount of the anticipated budget for the project and the amount you are requesting from this organization.
- Explain why your agency would be the best recipient of the funding for this project. Note the credentials of the individuals who will be influential to the project.
Compile your complete grant proposal. Your proposal should total 4,000 words and include revisions of previously submitted components based on feedback from your prior assessments. Ensure that it includes all of the following components:
