    An informational interview is a networking tool to learn about specific organizations or roles from someone with firsthand experience. The goal is to gain insights and potentially receive guidance for your own career exploration. However, these interviews are NOT a format for job applications or referrals for jobs. The agenda should be designed around asking the interviewee about the interviewee’s career path, organization or role. Typical questions include:

    1. Tell me how you became interested in this organization? What do you value most about working with your employer?

    2. How did you get started in your career? What skills or experiences have been most helpful for you in your career?

    This assignment requires you to schedule, plan and conduct an informational interview with a professional who works in an organization you are most interested in working with or for within the next 2-3 years. This is the first of two deliverables.

    Submit a two-page summary of who the interviewee is, how you were able to make contact and 3-4 key questions items you plan to cover during your meeting. Since this course is focused on organizational behavior, be sure to ask (some) questions about culture and the employee experience. The interviewee’s LinkedIn profile link and the date and time of your (virtual) interview must be included. This assignment is worth 8% of the final grade in a graduate level course. The format, content and depth of the submission should reflect the importance of the assignment.

    Although it may be interesting to discuss these topics with family members and/or to interview other current (or recent) students, no points will be awarded for these interviews.

    Purpose

    In real-world analytics projects, analysts rarely begin with clean, well-documented datasets. Instead, they must first understand what data exists, how it is structured, and what level of detail it contains before any analysis can occur.

    The purpose of this assignment is to practice creating a data inventory for real organizational reports related to fundraising activities. This process will help you determine what questions the data can reasonably support and what limitations exist prior to analysis.

    Data for This Assignment

    You are provided with fundraising reports for three years (20232025).
    Each year includes two Excel files related to fundraising activity.

    For this assignment, you will:

    • Complete a detailed data inventory for the 2023 fundraising files
    • Perform a structural check for the 2024 and 2025 files to confirm whether the same structure is present

    No calculations, visualizations, or statistical analysis are required.

    Part A: Data Inventory (2023 Fundraising Files)

    Using the 2023 fundraising files only, complete a data inventory for each Excel file.

    For each file, document the following:

    File Information

    • File name.
    • Number of worksheets (tabs).

    For each tab in the file, record:

    • Tab name.
    • Brief description of what the tab appears to contain.
    • Level of data:
      • Granular (for example, individual players, transactions, dates), or
      • Aggregated (for example, summaries by category, totals, grouped data).

    • Number of columns.

    You may present this information using a table or clearly organized bullet points.

    There are many points of failure that can affect the operation of a computer. A computer could fail due to overheating, loose cards, or even battery failure. There are also points in our lives where we seem to fail to obey Gods commands and teachings. Adam and Eve were the very first people to fail God by not obeying His commands and by eating of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. God could not stand to look at the sin that Adam and Eve committed, so He turned away. However, God made a way for us to overcome our sinful nature through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

        5. Ensure that your data entry is correct and that all the cells in lines 154 thru 156 (FINANCIAL DATA CHECKS) on the “Data” tab, and lines 14 thru 17 (DATA CHECKS) on the Analysis tab of the FSAP 9e spreadsheet file show “0” as the calculated amounts.
        6. Use amounts in the Data Check cells on both tabs in the spreadsheet to help you identify input errors.

    A Story of Change in Modern Advertising

    In the past, advertising was simple. Brands spoke, and people listened. Billboards were loud, television commercials were repetitive, and newspaper ads focused on promotions and catchy slogans. Attention could be bought with money. Today, that world no longer exists.

    Consider the story of a growing fashion brand in the digital age. At the beginning, they invested heavily in online ads, pushing discounts and limited offers. The visuals were perfect, the copy was persuasive, yet the results were disappointing. People skipped the ads, blocked them, or scrolled past without a second thought.

    Then the brand changed its mindset. Instead of asking, How do we sell more? they asked, How do we connect? They began sharing stories about their production process, ethical sourcing, and the real people behind the brand. They featured customers, not models. They showed mistakes, lessons, and growth. Slowly, engagement increased. Sales followed naturally.
