Instructions:
The purpose of this assignment is to get you thinking about your term paper. You will submit drafts of your paper throughout the semester for brief feedback by the instructor to improve your final term paper. Based on the topic you selected in Week 1 and after beginning to review scholarly sources about your topic, provide a detailed outline of your paper. The outline should include the following sections:
1. Introduction
a. Brief summary of the problem and policy:
2. Literature Review
a. _________________
b. _________________
c. _________________
d. _________________
3. Theoretical Explanation for Policy
4. Recommendation(s)
5. References
Where your assignment will look different from your peers will be specific to parts 1a and 2a-2d.
Part 1a should provide a brief summary of the problem at hand and the policy specific to that issue. This can come verbatim from your paper selection and rationale assignment from week 1.
Parts 2a-2d should include subsections of what you will discuss related to your specific policy issue. While these sections may change as you begin writing your paper, it is important to have an outline of topics to keep your paper organized and ensure that it includes at least some of the main issues you will discuss.
For example: If I selected a paper topic on the death penalty I would preliminarily include the following topics to discuss in the literature review:
2. Literature Review
a. Creation and Brief History of the Death Penalty
b. Prevalence and Differences in the Death Penalty in the United States today
c. Research on the effectiveness of the death penalty
Issues related to the effectiveness with the death penalty including racial and sex differences
This assignment is meant to make sure you have explored your topic at least from briefly enough to know the policy, potential issues, and give me an opportunity to point out other factors that you might want to consider. Overall, this is a completion based assignment. However, you should still review the rubric below.

Draft a one-page informal business proposal in which you first define the venture for which you are seeking investment to complete a proof-of-concept test. You are seeking an investment of $150,000 from a venture capitalist, and you plan to make a diagnostic assay test based on antigen-antibody principles to accomplish a medical diagnostic of your choice. You can choose a medically relevant topic of interest, such as a test for COVID-19 aimed at the detection of particular proteins, as long as the venture seeks to detect the presence or absence of infection in the body.
Your business proposal should include a high-level explanation of how this concept could work. Develop a schematic using inputs and outputs to show which indicators the assay is reading, and how it uses those indicators to decide the state of the readout being examined. You can use diagrams, figures, flowcharts, and whatever else comes to mind to describe your idea. You will include a breakdown of the budget, which may include several parameters such as product /development, research and development, and manufacturing costs. (Obviously, we’re not working with a lot of information as to how much things will actually cost, so don’t worry too much about being completely accurate with this budget; it is more of an intellectual exercise.)
The research paper should determine your organizational tactical response to a weapon of mass destruction (WMD) terrorism event at a specific location selected by you. You must select your level of government involvement and the various cooperating agencies that might assist you (local, state, tribal, or federal).
Your final research paper should consist of the components listed below.
In addition to the required components, you must include an introduction and a summary of your findings in your paper. The introduction should provide a thesis statement and a brief overview of the paper’s topic. The summary should provide the results of your findings and solutions based on research and best practices.
You must include at least five scholarly sources, three of which must come from the CSU Online Library. Adhere to APA Style when constructing this assignment, including in-text citations and references for all sources that are used. Please note that no abstract is needed.
Post a 250-300 word reflection supported by a rationale about where you have encountered beauty in the ‘expanded field’ (after Krauss, and Meyer).
Your rationale needs to connect back to the readings.

A grant writer works with a team or an agency to conduct grant writing for criminal justice initiatives.
So far, you have developed some of the components of the grant proposal identified to meet the need for funding the criminal justice initiative that you selected in Week 1. For this assessment, you develop the remaining components, revise previously completed components based on feedback, and compile your final grant proposal. While you are not required to submit your grant proposal to the funding organization you selected, it should be compiled in a way that it would be ready for submission to the organization if you choose to do so.
Write a 700-word executive summary to introduce the grant proposal that you have been compiling throughout the course as if you were a grant writer for an agency that supports the selected initiative. This summary will be the first item included in your proposal, followed by the components developed in Weeks 14.
In your executive summary, describe the key information from the components of your proposal in the following order:
Compile your complete grant proposal. Your proposal should total 4,000 words and include revisions of previously submitted components based on feedback from your prior assessments. Ensure that it includes all of the following components:
Optionally, you may include additional components that are part of the application to the funding source you selected.
Cite sources and format your citations according to APA guidelines.
Requirements: part 1 700 words part 2 4000 words
