topicDiscussion Forum-Question Module 3 Chapter 1 Prehistoric Art AND Lecture Videos for the topic Discuss the ways in which art was used as a vehicle to link the physical with the spiritual world in Paleolithic and Neolithic communities. Note: Please make sure that you have read and understand the requirements for the discussion questions spelled out in Writing requirements-Assignment 1.2 for module 1. This is an AI (Artificial Intelligence) restricted assignment. AI restrictions and other writing requirements The use of AI is not permitted for this assignment. Your first paragraph must be declarative in several ways Restate the question Declare your intentions to use (have used) the assigned materials i.e. the book, lecture notes and videos, assigned websites and other links, etc…. Declare your intention to not use (have not used) AI. Example of first paragraph. In this discussion forum I will explore ways that we believe people of the Paleolithic and Neolithic era used art as a way to link the physical and spiritual realms. I will be using the assigned materials such as the book and the class site. And I declare that I have not used AI. Example of second paragraph: One of the first theories that I will discuss concerns sympathetic magic. Many scholars believe that a kind of sympathetic hunting magic could be one way to explain some of the cave paintings. For instance, illustration 1.1 Wounder Bison (Janson 3)shows a painting of a wounded bison. This painting could have been made before the hunt in order to create a favorable outcome. By showing the bison as wounded the hunters project into the future that which they want to come true. These two example paragraphs are simply guides to help you get started. You can rewrite them in any way that fits your style. Watch the video on posting and see the example post in the Example forum Reminders Use images to illustrate your post when appropriate or required. DISCUSSION – The “Concept-to-Reality” AI Challenge

Objective: Explore how AI can jumpstart the creative process and refine technical models in seconds.

There are a myriad AI design tools these days that you might have used or experimented with.

The purpose of this fun discussion post is THREE-FOLD –

    1. To become an active user of 2026 technology

    2. Exploring and sharing the results of various tools – tool variety,

    3. Experience and conclude on the hypothesis that AI is a co-pilot, not a replacement for technical design skills.

Part 1: Exploration (The 15-Minute Sprint)

Choose any one of the available AI tools and spend 15 minutes generating a “Dream Interior” for a specific client (e.g., a minimalist workspace for a futuristic digital nomad or a biophilic library for a primary school). Suggested few –

    • Midjourney: Use text prompts to generate 4 high-quality mood board images that capture a specific “vibe” or material palette.
    • SketchUp Diffusion: If you have a basic SketchUp massing model, use this built-in extension to “re-skin” it in various styles (Industrial, Scandinavian, etc.) with a single click.
    • Adobe Firefly: Use “Generative Fill” to take a photo of an empty room and add furniture or change the lighting based on your prompts.

These are only suggestions. Feel free to choose any tool.

IMPORTANT – DO NOT SPEND MORE THAN 15 MINUTES ON THE PROMPT

Part 2: Discussion Post (Your Experience)

After your sprint, post the following information in the discussion board:

    1. Name of the tool you chose.
    2. What was your prompt? (You can directly copy and paste the prompt here). If you modified the prompt or built on it, you can list that here as well.
    3. The “Magic” Moment: What was the most surprising or impressive thing the program did with your idea?
    4. The “Glitch” Moment: AI isn’t perfect. Did it struggle with perspective, hands, or specific furniture? How did you try to fix the prompt?
    5. The Professional Pivot: As a designer, how would you use this result to improve your actual SketchUp model? Does it change how you’ll think about materials or lighting in your next rendering?

    Part 3: Peer Peer Review

Comment on at least two classmates’ posts. Compare their tool to yours. Which one seems more “ready for a client” and why?

Requirements: Just follow instruction, be simple not too long
