For this final assignment, you will develop a Business Plan for your department or service you created to present to your Executive Leadership Team. Your plan must contain all the elements of a business plan as discussed, as well as the financial, supplies, and staffing elements needed to support the new service. The paper must be AT LEAST 10 pages and include ALL the following components. You may add charts and graphs for descriptions of some of the elements, if applicable.
1. Provide a complete overview of your proposed new department or service, including the need for the service and the projected volumes.
2. Develop a financial statement identifying projected revenue and operating expenses for the first year. These projections should be based upon information obtained for the institution in which you are planning the new department.
3. Identify specific staffing projections for the new service, listed by type and number of staff needed. Be sure to include staffing for all shifts and include those needed to cover holidays and vacations. You may use the elements discussed assignments for staffing. Identify the supplies required for the service, along with the cost, the building or rent costs, and utilities (if applicable), etc.
4. Identify and include reimbursement codes for the services you will provide (available from your healthcare organization or from the CMS website).
5. Determine whether capital costs will be required for this project. How much money will you be asking for to complete this project? You will need to determine what dollar amount constitutes a capital purchase in your organization.
6. Include the following: projected revenue, charge per unit of service, and expenses relating to salaries and supplies.
7. Complete a break-even analysis, providing the volume of units needed to break even for the project.
