  • Final Project Stage 3

I have attached my most recent draft work on the movie Tron Ares, Stage 1 and Stage 2.

Please stay on task with the work I have already completed.

Please use attached work to complete Stage 3 of the final project.

Stage 1 Instruction (Completed by me)

For the Final Project, you will select at least one film that represents your career or career goals. For example, if you are working toward a cybersecurity degree or already working in an IT field, you could choose a film that relates to Artificial Intelligence, such as A.I., Her, or M3gan. If you are a business major, a film such as The Big Short, Wolf of Wall Street, How to Succeed in Business Without Even Trying, or Moneyball. Your project can either be a paper or a presentation (such as a narrated PowerPoint or video essay).

This is both an analysis and research essay. You will examine the film(s) and discuss how it relates to your field: how accurate is it, does it present a positive or negative view, does it offer insights into the field? How does the film use the production elements we have discussed (direction, cinematography, production design, sound, editing, and acting) to convey its theme?

Research reviews and analysis of the film to see how others view it. Include articles and analysis from people in the field as well as outside of the field.

The Final Project is broken up into three stages:

    • Final Project Stage One: Proposal due at the end of Week Three
    • Final Project Stage Two: Draft/Outline due at the end of Week Five
    • Final Project Stage Three: Final Draft due at the end of Week Seven

Your proposal must include the following for full points:

    • The title and director of the film.
    • The career field you will examine.
    • How you propose to research your topic.
    • A 100 word rationale for choosing this film.

    (My Completed Stage 1 Work)

    Final Project Stage One: Proposal

    Film Title & Director:

Tron Ares (2025) directed by Joachim Ronning

    Career Field:

    Cybersecurity Managing and Policies.

How I Propose to Research the Topic:

I will watch and analyze this film through the lens of the career I am pursuing. As I watch, I plan to pay close attention to how management and policies are portrayed throughout the movie. I want to see how these situations connect to the real world and consider how similar challenges could turn into real-life problems.

    100-Word Rationale:

I chose this film for a couple of reasons. I saw Part 1, so it only felt right to watch Part 2. Choosing Tron: Ares makes sense to me because it centers around video games. In the world of gaming, there is money involved, which connects to finances, management, ownership, and policies. The first Tron took viewers inside the game and into the world of code. Now that I am studying cybersecurity, I want to watch this second film from a different perspective and see how it connects to my field of study.

Stage 2 Instructions (Completed By Me)

    Final Project Stage Two: Draft/Outline

Submit a Draft/Outline of your project. It does not have to be a complete project, but it should set out your thesis, research, and structure of the final project.

    Please See the Attachment!

Stage 3 Instructions ( To be Completed By You)

Submit the paper or presentation. This should include a bibliography if a written paper. If a presentation, it should include citations within the presentation as well as a research credit page. If a paper, it should be between 5 and 7 pages. This does not include the bibliography. The body of the paper should have a one-inch margin on all four sides, be doubled-spaced, and use a standard font style (such as Times New Roman, Courier, or Arial) and font size (11 or 12).

  • Discussion 3

This discussion will integrate knowing how to combine prior modules and your environment to see public health concerns and opportunities.

For this you will combine addiction and marketing in your community to see how the past efforts to sell cigarettes are still being used to impact teens with vaping.

    Objectives

    1. Analyze the historical, political, social, socioeconomic, and legal factors involved in the practice, marketing, distribution, and government regulations of legal and illegal drugs. (Obj 7)

Preparationman in suit with the words marketing-strategy

THINK: Get out in your community and take note of where you see ads and where you see product. Notice the packaging and features. How easy is it to get vape products?

Vapes were purported to be used for adults to quit or have a healthier way to smoke. Are they? The research we read and watched are proving that vaping just has different consequences!

How about the idea of “freedom” or “I should be able to do what I want with my body”? Are young people really asserting independence or are they pawns of big money industries?

The CDC states 2.5 million young people vape (1). The National Library of Medicine (NLM) calculated that JUUL made between $130 million and $650 million of its net revenue from youth, depending on consumption scenarios.

    Instructions

      1. Find a package of a vape product in your community that looks like it is marketed to teens. It can be a family member’s or friend’s (yours-I hope not!), in a store or in the community. Take a photo/screenshot to post. Show the photo date and time by swiping up on the pic so you can take a screenshot and post it in your discussion or have proof of date in the picture. Some stores do not love buyers taking pictures so be subtle.
      2. You cannot post the same as another post. YOU CANNOT JUST POST AN IMAGE SCREENSHOT FROM THE INTERNET.
      3. Tell us what three element/factors that make it look like it is for a younger audience.
      4. Currently, vapes in CA cannot have flavor or be sold. Did the store you went to have flavored vapes? Look online can you buy a flavored vape online? Attach the link to buy if you find one!
      5. What could you say to a young person to deter them from vaping? You must have a fact that you learned about smoking or vaping that you think might deter use and make it age appropriate for a 13 year old to understand.
      6. Use a reference for your fact. Cite AI if you use it.

    Peer Response Details

    1. Find the ad/product packaging/feature that you think is the best bad example of targeting teens! Vote for that peer by mentioning their name and what catches your eye on the product.
    2. Then vote for the most persuasive argument and state why. Make sure you mention who wrote the post.
