    Model Based Decision-Making Processes [WLOs: 1, 2, 3] [CLOs: 1, 2, 5]

Prior to beginning work on this discussion forum,

    • Read Chapter 8 of your textbook, An Overview of Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Science, and AI
    • Review the article,

U.S. healthcare organizations are always seeking better ways to determine current outcomes, predict future outcomes, and implement best practices to ensure positive healthcare outcomes for their patients. The trend in the U.S. healthcare delivery system is to apply business intelligence, analytics, and data science to implementation processes. Prescriptive analytics is often implemented as a tool, which is built upon first responder tools like descriptive and predictive analytics. Researchers use tools such as artificial intelligence, algorithms, and cloud data architecture to aid in the computation processes. Prescriptive analysis seeks to provide decision makers in healthcare organizations with the ability to know how they should respond. This could be called decision optimization processes.

Many people face barriers to quality healthcare services. However, recent trends in business intelligence, analytics, and data science are showing great promise for improving access, reducing cost, and improving the quality of care.

In this weeks discussion, address the following prompts about how prescriptive analytics can aid healthcare organizations to make the best decisions for their patients. Your post should be a minimum of 500 words,

    • Define prescriptive analytics and explain how it can be applied in the healthcare industry to improve patient outcomes.
    • Discuss two model-based, decision-making processes and trends in modeling. Examples: model libraries, solution technique libraries, architecture-cloud-based tools, linear program model and multidimensional analysis modeling.
    • Explain why modeling may not be used in the healthcare industry as frequently as it should or could be.
    • Describe three benefits of using spreadsheets in prescriptive analytical modeling examples.

Create an 8-12 slide PowerPoint presentation for one or more stakeholder or leadership groups to generate interest and buy-in for the plan proposal you developed for the final assessment.

Knowing who to include in your project plan presentation is important. Is your plan focused on an organization, a patient population, or a community? The purpose of the project will guide identification of the population. Who are the stakeholders? Are they patients? Health and human services providers, government officials, influencers, workers whose jobs are impacted by the proposed plan? Community activists? Or affected local businesses? (Harris et al., 2023). These are all important considerations as you plan your presentation for stakeholders.

You are encouraged to complete the Evidence-Based Practice: Basics and Guidelines activity before you develop the presentation. This activity consists of six questions that will check your understanding of the fundamentals of evidence-based practice as well as ways to identify EBP in practice. The information gained from completing this activity will help promote success in the Stakeholder Presentation assessment and demonstrate courseroom engagementit requires just a few minutes of your time and is not graded.

This two-part assessment focuses on developing and presenting an interdisciplinary plan proposal to address an organizational or patient care issue. You will first create a comprehensive plan using a structured template, then develop a professional PowerPoint presentation designed to generate stakeholder buy-in and support for your proposal.

Leadership and collaboration are critical aspects of nursing practice. This assessment provides an opportunity to demonstrate effective leadership skills and interprofessional collaboration by creating an evidence-based plan that could drive meaningful change in a healthcare setting. You will think critically about project implementation, resource management, and evaluation strategiesessential components of successful healthcare improvement initiatives.

Your presentation will serve as an educational and persuasive tool that stakeholders can use to expand on your ideas, drive organizational change, and improve processes related to interprofessional collaboration. While you will not execute the project, carefully examining implementation and evaluation strategies will develop the critical thinking skills required for leading healthcare improvement efforts.

Your presentation should be tailored for stakeholders at a specific healthcare organization, with language and messaging appropriate for leaders and decision-makers who will evaluate and potentially approve your proposal.

Week 6 Intelligence Collection & Civil Liberties In light of the post-9/11 intelligence reforms and the expansion of surveillance capabilities, how should the US intelligence community strike a balance between the imperative of homeland security and the protection of civil liberties, particularly when dealing with whistleblowers who expose classified information? In your response, consider the legal frameworks such as the USA Patriot Act and the Whistleblower Protection Act, as well as the ethical implications demonstrated in the case studies of Ellsberg, Manning, Snowden, and others. Should the publics right to know ever outweigh national and homeland security concerns? Why or why not?
