  • HEALTH HISTORY

    Instructions

Utilizing the interview techniques, critical thinking skills, nutrition and growth and development we have discussed in lecture, you are to obtain a complete and thorough health history of an adult (age 30-60 years) friend, relative, neighbor, or co-worker who is culturally different from yourself. Document this information appropriately in a narrative format and create a culturally sensitive NARRATIVE plan of care that includes two (2) physical and one (1) psychosociocultural nursing diagnoses, short and long term goals, interventions, rationales for your interventions and expected outcomes.

    • First, COMPLETELY fill out the health history form (you can type or handwrite anywhere on the form or scan a hand-written form). Submit the form with your written paper (requirement for the assignment).
    • Ensure the person interviewed is between the age of 30-60 years and is culturally different from yourself
    • DO NOT USE NAMES OR ANY OTHER IDENTIFYING INFORMATION (REMEMBER HIPAA)
    • Document in a narrative-formatted (NOT BULLET POINTS OR LISTS) culturally sensitive plan of care
    • The plan of care MUST include two physical nursing diagnoses and one psychosocial cultural nursing diagnosis. The nursing diagnoses MUST be NANDA approved.
    • For a list of NANDA nursing diagnoses visit this link:
    • For each nursing diagnosis, include at least two short term and two long term goals; appropriate interventions and the rationales for your interventions as well as expected outcomes
    • Incorporate at least three culturally based references other than course text

You will find the grading rubric for this assignment when you click on the “Obtaining a Health History” link above or opening the “Assignment Rubric” folder! Please be sure to watch the instructional video also.

IMPORTANT TIP: PLEASE WRITE THIS IN A NARRATIVE FORMAT, NOT as a care plan with bullet points and sentence fragments. Think of it as obtaining the information from the health history, and then INTERPRETING it for the written narrative as you consider outcomes. (This assignment will be submitted to TurnitinTM.)

  • Week 3

In this assignment, you are to prepare a report analyzing the two problems below. Be sure to include your own interpretation and opinion as you prepare this report. You are a manager at Glass, Inc.a mirror and window supplier. Recently, you conducted a study of the production process for your single-side encapsulated window. The results from the study are summarized below and are based on the eight units of capital currently available at your plant. Workers are paid $60 per unit of labor, capital is rented at $20 per unit of capital. Production Process Study Results Labor Output 0 0 1 10 2 30 3 60 4 80 5 90 6 95 7 95 8 90 9 80 10 60 11 30 Explain the meaning of own price and cross-price elasticity of demand. Discuss why it is important for a manager or owner to understand the two forms of elasticity. Given the information above, calculate the following for each level of labor input for Glass, Inc. Show and explain your calculations. average variable costs average fixed cost average total cost marginal cost You are a management consultant for a 30-year-old partner in a large law firm. In a meeting, your client says: According to an article in The New York Times, 57 percent of large law firms have a mandatory retirement age for partners in the firm. Before they retire, partners are paid directly for the work that they do, and, as an owner, they are entitled to a share of the profits of the firm. Once they retire, partners do not receive either form of compensation. In light of this, I think we should eliminate mandatory retirement in order to gain a competitive advantage in attracting high-quality lawyers to work for our firm. Of course, you are the expert. Is mandatory retirement legal in your chosen profession or career path? If so, what is the justification for the law? Does your current employer have a mandatory retirement age? Should the law firm eliminate mandatory retirement in order to gain a competitive advantage? Describe and justify your recommendation. Discuss your own personal and professional opinion about mandatory retirement, regardless of the industry. Prepare a 2-3 page report in APA style that summarizes your findings. Use at least two additional credible resources, and cite appropriately. Submit your report using the instructions below
  • Case Conceptualization Paper 1

    Theories of counseling class assignment

Case conceptualization is a fundamental skill for applying evidence-based counseling theories to client concerns. In this course, you will complete two case conceptualization papers, each based on a provided vignette (in files) with the goals of developing and strengthening your ability to apply counseling theories flexibly, practicing case analysis in trauma and crisis contexts, and developing cultural and ethical awareness in treatment planning. You will complete two papers, each centered on a different counseling theory. In other words, your two papers should not focus on the same theory.

Each paper should be up to 5 double-spaced pages (not including title page and references) and include the following sections:

    • Case Background and Foundation (~1 page)
    • Background Information: Succinctly summarize demographics, relevant history, and current functioning from the vignette.
    • Presenting Problems and Symptoms: Describe the clients main concerns.
    • Trauma or Crisis Considerations: Identify trauma- or crisis-related symptoms that may influence your conceptualization.
    • Individual, Cultural, and Contextual Factors: Discuss relevant factors shaping the case.
    • Ethical Concerns: Note ethical issues that might be relevant to the case.
    • Theoretical Application (1.52 pages)
    • Etiology and Issue Framing: Describe how the selected theory informs the development and maintenance of the clients problems.
    • Treatment Considerations: Describe how the theory informs a treatment plan, including interventions, goals, and the roles of therapist and client.
    • Application to Trauma/Crisis: Address how the theory accounts for or adapts to trauma- and/or crisis-related symptoms.
    • Reflection and Evaluation (~0.5 page)

    W2 Video Discussion

Several days before the deadline, please record and post your response to one of the following periods of development:

Choose only 1 stage of development after reading Chapter 1 of our text.

Which period of development is most interesting to you and why?

      1. Prenatal – conception to birth
      2. Infancy/Toddlerhood – birth to 24 months
      3. Early Childhood/Preschool – 3 to 5 years
      4. Middle Childhood – 6 to 11 years
      5. Adolescence – 12 years and up

Your post should be your unique perspective, spoken in your own words, not AI generated. I want to know what you think.

    Example 1 (Jesica)

Good Morning, I am not sure if you can see my video. I don’t know what happened; maybe I am having technical issues. I will write down what my area of interest in development is, the adolescent age. This is because I have my kids between the ages of 13 and 20. All the stages are important, however i feel that the adolesence is the most difficult age because it is when our kids are learning how to deal with their emotions. They are now making their own decisions, thinking that they are standing for what they believe in and who they are. When they were kids, it was easier for us to protect them and guide them. However, the adolescent age is when they are trying to figure out what they want. Is very important to build a connection and communication with our adolescents and respect their boundaries as well. This was very difficult for me at the beginning because it was hard to understand why they were pulling away. I had to learn to be more understanding and hear them out so I could be able to help them. At the end of the day, our kids know we are their safest target, and they know that we are going to be for them no matter what because we love them. Is sad to see some of their friends who wish their parents could understand them more, or that their parents are never around. Thats why it’s important to have that connection with our kids. I want to be able to understand the adolescent more, and this is why I am more interested in this stage.

    Example 2 (Allen)

Hello everyone for this week’s discussion topic of what is the most interesting developmental stage to us and what we, you know, would like to learn more about. For me personally, it’s going to be middle childhood that 6 to 11 years old. Um, age range. And the reason that it is the most interesting to me is because I like to think of I have an interest in sociology as well. So my middle childhood being the age range or the developmental stage where children are starting to interact with peers, uh, of maybe the same age, maybe they’re older, maybe they’re younger. When we encounter in, you know, how schools set up recess and all that sort, all that sort of thing. It’s it’s very interesting. And it also leads into the topic of nature versus nurture, because nature, as we know, is just kind of how we live, uh, how we inherit, what we inherit, what we inherit from our parents, our family lineages. But nurture specifically, is not only, you know, the people that we are raised by and how, you know, our parents shape us, but also, uh, the environments that we grow up in, the different people that we are exposed to throughout our lives, the different people that we interact with throughout our lives and with middle childhood that is, you know, six years old being the earliest that all of this starts to set into stone. The comparison to other children is not just academic, but it is also there are also social comparisons as well. They’re social comparisons, in contrast, where, you know, you have, um, a child who who is a single child within their home interacting with other children who maybe have multiple siblings, have step siblings, or even, you know, have different sets of parents. They come from different cultural backgrounds. There’s a lot of things that comes with interacting with, you know, multiple people, um, same similar or even younger age groups. And it’s something that I remember from my childhood, relatively, of how I would compare myself with other peers, the social norms that I wouldn’t fully understand. And that ended up leading me to gravitate more towards children who also maybe didn’t fully understand those social norms either. And I see it with my younger sister as well, along with some of the children that I’ve worked with in their own schools. So overall, it’s just it’s it’s really interesting. I like I like looking at this from more of a sociological standpoint, but yeah. Hope you enjoyed my video. He’s on cat timeout because he’s begging for food. But yeah, I hope this all makes sense.
