  • 6-3 Historical Analysis Essay Progress Check 2

    Overview

Throughout Modules Five and Six, you have been guided through beginning your Project 2: Historical Analysis Essay assignment, which you will continue to work on in Modules Seven and Eight and formally submit for completion at the end of Module Eight of the course. This progress check assignment provides you with an important opportunity to get valuable instructor feedback on the progress you are making and to ensure you are on the right track for your later submission.

    Prompt

Modules Five and Six have introduced you to how historians approach assessing historical evidence to refine their thesis statement and message. By now you should have enough evidence compiled from your research to begin writing your historical analysis essay. You will begin working on the essay piece by piece. In Module Six: Analyzing History, continued, learning block 6-4 (page 1) in the webtext, you will work on drafting the body of your essay. Return to your submission for Progress Check 1 and draft three body paragraphs that explore the causes, course, and consequences of your chosen historical event and use evidence from primary and secondary sources to support your thesis.

Specifically, in this assignment, you will submit the following elements of your Project 2: Historical Analysis Essay for review by your instructor:

In Module Six: Analyzing History, continued, learning block 6-4 (page 1) in the webtext, you worked toward the following elements:

    1. Body: You will use this section of your essay to provide further detail about your historical event while supporting the claim you made in your thesis statement. Make sure to cite your sources. Specifically, you should:
    2. Describe the causes of the historical event. In other words, what were the underlying factors that led to the historical event? Were there any immediate causes that precipitated the event?
    3. Illustrate the course of your historical event. In other words, tell the story or narrative of your event. Who were the important participants? What did they do? Why? How do the perspectives of the key participants differ?
    4. Describe the immediate and long-term consequences of the historical event for American society. In other words, how did the event impact American society?
    5. Discuss the historical evidence that supports your conclusions about the impact of the event on American society. Support your response with specific examples from your sources.

Please note that the numbering included above directly aligns with the numbering of these elements as they are presented in the Project 2 Guidelines and Rubric. You will ultimately also need to include a conclusion and reference list and make sure you communicate your essays overall message in your final historical analysis essay, but you do not need to do so in this submission. You will be prompted to build upon this progress check submission to prepare your final historical analysis essay for submission in Module Eight.

    What to Submit

The Historical Analysis Essay Progress Check 2 must be submitted as a 1- to 3-page Microsoft Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, and one-inch margins. Follow the formatting of the example included in Module Six: Analyzing History, continued, learning block 6-4 (page 1) in the webtext, and include identifying information (name, course code and title, name of university, and date) as well as section headings (draft submission) as appropriate.

  • Decision Making Assignment

    DECISION-MAKING ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS

    OVERVIEW

Successful managerial decision-making is often complex, because managers attempt to analyze

options and make determinations to select the best course of action in response to opportunities

and threats. Different ways to make decisions that will optimize organizational performance need

    to be examined.

There should be a cover page, abstract, introduction, conclusion, and reference sections (which

do not count towards the minimum word count).

Among these decision-making techniques (Vroom-Yetton Decision Model, Multiple Decision

Analysis, Stakeholder Analysis, Game Theory, Stepladder Technique, Scientific Method,

Decision Making Trees, Analytical Hierarchy Process) compare 2 of them and apply the

technique that would be most effective in solving a specific problem within your organization or

industry or a specific organization that you have been aware of from personal experience or from

the media or from the literature. Describe the problem and the application of the technique in

detail. Most of your paper must describe the application of the technique (the solution). Based on

peer reviewed literature, justify why your chosen decision-making technique is the best to solve

the problem. State what the Bible or Christian literature says about decision-making. (At least

100 words in The Problem section, at least 400 words in The Solution section.)

    Required Headings

    Cover page with Topic Title

    Abstract

The Problem (at least 100 words in this section)

The Solution (at least 400 words in this section)

    Conclusions

    References

    Other Requirements

Materials submitted to fulfill requirements in one course may not be submitted in another course.

The cover page must include this statement: By submitting this assignment, I attest this

submission represents my own work, and not that of another student, scholar, or internet

source. I understand I am responsible for knowing and correctly utilizing referencing and

    bibliographical guidelines.

Submit all course assignments in MS Word. Do not submit in PDF or in any other word

    processing application.

All references listed must be from peer-reviewed journal articles, except the Bible and the

2 course textbooks. This paper must include at least 5 references that have publication

dates no older than 5 years, in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible. Do not use

any books other than the Bible and the 2 course textbooks. Do not cite the management

text more than once in your paper. Do not cite or reference dissertations. Dissertations are

not peer-reviewed articles. Do not conduct interviews.

In-text citations are required to support your thesis statement, paragraph topic sentences

points, statements, issues, arguments, concerns, statements of fact and opinion. Do not

quote any words in the entire paper.

The required cover page, abstract, introduction, conclusion, and reference sections are not

included in the required assignment word count but are required as part of your paper.

There is no maximum word count for any course assignments.

The abstract should be written within a range of 150-250 words. Your abstract should

focus on key findings linked to management concepts in the assignment, but not on your

specific research information. The abstract should be written as if it were a stand-alone

document. Therefore, do not use phrases such as, in this paper which are more

    appropriate in the introduction section.

The introduction should not be longer than 12 page, but not shorter than one paragraph. It

presents a detailed description of the problems and issues central to the case. Your

introduction must include a thesis statement, with a supporting citation at the end of your

    introduction section.

Do not provide a separate biblical integration, biblical application or biblical analysis

section. Instead, concentrate your biblical integration in the Solutions section, not in your

    introduction or conclusion sections.

Your conclusion section should not be longer than 12 page. It clearly states the answer to

the problem which you stated in your introduction.

Sources of information from Wikipedia, dictionaries, encyclopedia and Course Hero will

not be accepted. Turnitin similarity scores should not exceed 20%.

Paragraph lengths: Each paragraph should have a topic sentence unless it continues from

or provides support to the prior paragraph. A paragraph is defined in this course as being

at least 4 sentences in length.

Sentence lengths: Each sentence must not exceed 30 words.

The first and second person may not be used. This assignment must be based on peer

    reviewed and biblical/Christian literature.

Avoid clichs, slang, jargon, exaggerations, abbreviations, figurative language, words

with a double meaning, and language that is too informal and/or too subjective for

example: showcasing, or this paper aims to… Use words that convey exact meaning.

Submit your document for grading with the following file name syntax: Last name, First

    name.

Remember: This assignment and all assignments in this course have a management, not

leadership focus. There is a distinct difference between management and leadership. Discuss

management, not leadership. The Contemporary Management text only provides basic topical

information. As a research-intensive doctoral course, you will need to research current peer-

reviewed literature. There is no assignment in this course that can be completed by relying on the

    text alone.

    Week 3 Question 5 Sara Schouten posted Feb 11, 2026 11:12 AM

It is extremely important that a psychotherapist takes the proper steps to develop a therapeutic relationship with their new patient upon starting an assessment. In Chapter 3 Wheeler mentions how even your introduction to the patient can aid you into setting up a therapeutic alliance. By making a patient feel comfortable, you are allowing them to be open and honest. Getting an accurate assessment on the patient is vital for an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. Wheeler states that the more engaged the patient and therapist are during the assessment process, the more valid the data obtained (Wheeler, 2022).

One way to facilitate a therapeutic alliance with a patient is to give them open-ended questions where they are able to answer freely. With open-ended questions, the patient feels they have some control and can help to build the rapport (Wheeler, 2022). These opening minutes of an assessment are very important because what the patient states first typically ends up being their chief complaint and the therapist must work to explore that topic.

Another way for a therapist to build the therapeutic alliance is by showing empathy when appropriate throughout the assessment. Through showing empathy, the therapist is proceeding to take a history and is then able to assess how the patient responds to statements like: That must have been very upsetting to see. or It must have been so hard for you to raise your younger siblings. Without showing empathy, the patient may not sense an openness from their therapist and may then withhold information.

I think a therapist also builds a therapeutic relationship through treating each patient assessment as its own individual experience and not necessarily as an algorithm for best practice. For example, Wheeler mentioned time frames within the assessment and what is commonly done, but depending on the patient they may need more time during the free speech section and less time on the MSE. I think a therapist is strengthening the therapeutic alliance by recognizing the needs of each individual patient. Wheeler mentioned this as well in her example with Beth, stating that Beths family history would have been covered earlier in the session as her chief complaint (Wheeler, 2022).

    OVERVIEW

The purpose of this assignment is to help you begin to think critically about real-world problems.

Being able to dissect the motives of criminals and the policies that we rely on in society is

important for the doctoral candidate. This assignment will help you think through all the theories

we have discussed in this course in order to select the most valuable and explanatory theories for

    the selected criminal or policy.

    INSTRUCTIONS

In this assignment, you will select only one (1) topic: a serial murderer or a policy.

If you select a serial murderer, you will write a 34-page biography of the individual

followed by an 11-14 page analysis of at least 3 theories that might be used to explain

why the individual committed the crimes they committed. Each theory must be explained

in reference to the individuals biography and must be greatly detailed.

If you select a current criminal justice policy (i.e., three-strikes laws), you will write a 3

4-page description of the policy followed by an 11-14 page analysis of at least 3 theories

that might have been used as a foundation for that policy. Each theory must be explained

in reference to the individuals biography and must be greatly detailed

In other words, as noted in the constraints above, you will have some limited flexibility in

choosing your topic. The research paper should be between 16 and 18 pages, making sure that

your content fits in that range.

The project must use current APA style and appropriate headings are expected.

The page count does not include the title page, abstract, reference section, or any extra

    material.

You must incorporate a Christian Worldview throughout your paper or have a specific

section of your paper dedicated to Christian Worldview.

You must use a minimum of 15-20 recent, relevant, and academic (peer-reviewed

journals preferred and professional journal allowed if used judiciously) sources with at

least 1 source being the Bible and no more than 2 books.

This paper must reflect doctoral-level research and writing style. Please reference the Research

Paper Grading Rubric when creating your research paper.

Note: Your assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool.
