Explanation of My Negotiation Log (For Review)

This essay is a Negotiation Log for my Business Law / Negotiation class. The purpose of this log is to show my personal growth as a negotiator and to demonstrate that I understand and can apply specific negotiation techniques learned in class.

This is not just a summary of what happened. The professor wants detailed analysis and reflection. The focus must be on how negotiation techniques were used, whether they worked, and what could have been improved.

Purpose: to record your personal growth as a negotiator and resolver of conflicts and to

help you develop your ability to recognize, explain, and apply specific negotiation

    techniques.

Length: a minimum of two double-spaced pages for each negotiation you may go

over the minimum length, but please not more than a page or two. For the 3-person

negotiation, the entry should be over two pages.

Description: a detailed analysis of each of the negotiations and exercises conducted

and your personal reflections about your experiences.

Expectation: that your logs will become more detailed and analytical as the semester

progresses and you acquire negotiation skills.

    What This Log Must Include

    Content:

A brief summary of your negotiation plan, prepared in advance

What you thought you did well

What you believe you could improve upon

What you thought the other side did well note who your partner was

What you thought the other side could have improved upon

What techniques learned in class were applied go beyond simple labels such

as competitive or compromising and specifically reference techniques discussed

in the reading and in class

What techniques that were not used might have been helpful

How changes might have led to a better outcome

Focus on analyzing the negotiation and how different techniques did or did not

work, rather than simply reporting what happened.

Guidance: be specific. Rather than writing, I could have been a better active listener,

incorporate the specifics of the negotiation/exercise: I should have tried to find out why

it was so important to Martha for her to stay in the apartment or I should have let

George express why he was angry before pushing forward with negotiating the terms of

    the agreement.

    Write in narrative form, not bullet points or numbered answers to the questions posed;

the primary purpose of the entries is to give you an opportunity to analyze what

happened, how you did, how you felt about the negotiation, if you were able to apply

any of the concepts discussed in the reading, and also how you thought your partner

did; give specific examples of how you used particular negotiation techniques and if

    they were successful or not

    Format instructions:

    Double-spaced

    One-inch margins

Submit one document with all entries

    Number the pages

Include your name, class, class time in the header, single-spaced and only on

the first page in the upper corner

Label each entry with the negotiation name, number, and negotiation partner(s)

    in a single-spaced heading

Do not include a summary of the instructions/set-up

When you refer to a technique discussed in class, please note from which book

or article and the page number; if you reference class notes, note the date

Do not leave extra space between paragraphs, at the top of the first page, or

    between entries

Points will be deducted for not following instructions

    Special Considerations for This Essay

Because I am a non-native English speaker (8 years in the U.S.), I tried to:

    • Use clear and natural language
    • Avoid overly complex vocabulary
    • Keep the tone reflective and personal
    • Make it sound realistic and not overly academic

The tone should feel like genuine self-reflection, not artificial or overly polished writing.

Summary of the Outcome in This Negotiation

In this role-play, I reached an agreement where:

    • I would pay more toward groceries
    • Rent would be paid by the next week
    • The agreement would be treated as a two-month trial
    • After two months, we would reevaluate with the other roommates

In my reflection, I conclude that:

    • The outcome was mostly positive
    • The relationship was preserved
    • But trust rebuilding could have been discussed more deeply

If you are reviewing this essay, please check:

    • Whether all required content elements are included
    • Whether techniques are clearly referenced with proper citation
    • Whether analysis is deep enough (not just describing events)
    • Whether the reflection shows growth
    • Whether the formatting follows instructions exactly

Thank you for reviewing it carefully.

  • MPA #2

This assignment is about the Michigan mens Health Foundation. The main goal of this foundation is to encourage men to get checked for prostate cancer because men don’t usually get checked. In this project we are assigned groups and each group has a different marketing strategy for this foundation to grow. My group will focus on “rebranding” efforts for the Michigan Men’s Health Foundation. MMH identified multiple trademarks – “Fight Like A Man”, “Blue Monday for Men’s Health”, “Got Nuts, Check Them”, “Cogs and Kegs”. The group will look into how these current branded trademarks are being used and create/select supportive opportunities they feel could strengthen the overall messaging in support of MMH’s mission/vision. The group should also create some unique, dynamic and engaging content of their own. I need to write just the introduction for this essay that should include who’s in my group, what’s being discussed, overall problem, and 1. Is the organization seen as an in-group or as an out-group by its community (refer to the Essentials for support)? How? Why?, 2. What silence is the movement attempting to break (consider utilizing Lordes words to support/add application to this section)? Also talk about what will further be discussed in the essay. This assignment should be typed (12-point font, Times New Roman or Ariel, double-spaced) in APA format.

  • Brief Case study in Nursing – 1 pages – Due tomorrow

    Instructions

Neurotransmitters are fundamental regulators of mood, cognition, behavior, and stress response. Dysregulation within these neurochemical systems contributes to the development and expression of numerous psychiatric symptoms and disorders. Because many psychopharmacologic agents exert their therapeutic effects by modulating neurotransmitter synthesis, release, receptor activity, or reuptake. Understanding these pathways is essential for nurses involved in mental health care. A strong neurobiological foundation supports accurate assessment, enhances clinical reasoning, and promotes the delivery of safe, evidence-based, person-centered interventions.

Case Study #2: Serotonin & GABA

Nadia is a 28-year-old barista who presents with escalating anxiety, chronic worry, muscle tension, and significant sleep disturbances. She describes feeling on edge all the time, with episodes of racing thoughts and shortness of breath. She avoids social gatherings due to fear of embarrassment and has recently started missing work due to panic-like symptoms.

She reports stomach pain, decreased appetite, and difficulty falling asleep. She also describes feeling shaky inside even when sitting still. When asked about coping, Nadia says she tries deep breathing, but it doesnt work. She denies substance use but drinks large amounts of herbal teas marketed for anxiety relief.

    Mental Status Findings

Appearance: Hands tremoring, avoids eye contact

    Behavior: Fidgeting, hypervigilant

    Mood: Nervous all the time

Thought Process: Over productive; difficult to redirect

    Cognition: Intact but distracted

Insight/Judgment: Good insight; motivated to improve

    Prompt for Students

Discuss how serotonin and GABA regulation normally reduces anxiety and promotes emotional stability and compare how dysregulation produces Nadias symptoms. Identify one connection or contrast between these systems and describe one nursing implication related to calming strategies, communication, or patient education.

  • Research Essay

The research paper is a kind of capstone assignment in English 1, a chance to combine your interests and ideas with the skills of writing and research you have strengthened week after week this semester. Before you embark on your research journey, you need to choose one of the prompts below– Prompt A or Prompt B. Each prompt calls for an 8-10 page research paper with a minimum of six sources, but the questions asked are different. While Prompt A is open-ended and calls upon you to define your own research question and approach to answering it, Prompt B sets forth a clear structure to your inquiry and may offer a more predictable strategy for developing and organizing your paper.

    Prompt A

Choose a current specific issue that sincerely interests you and write an insightful argumentative paper on that topic. I highly recommend that you choose an issue that is specific, detailed, and multi-faceted. Whatever you choose, you will use your own insight as well as scholarly research to establish the critical and creative terms of your inquiry. Ideally, your approach will problematize, or challenge established views of the topic you have chosen. While this is a research paper, it is still a thesis-driven, argumentative essay. I want to read your thoughts about the issue(s), and I want you to convince me of your opinions. The topic you choose and the position you take should invite debate and differences of opinion. Your paper should not merely report facts; rather, it should show that you can use facts and critical thinking to persuasively support your position on the issue. It may help for you to write your own prompt in order to keep your essay focused and argumentative. If you do this, please make sure that it is open-ended and invites ideas, not just facts.

    For Both Prompts

What Ill Be Thinking When Evaluating Your Researched Argument:

Is your thesis clear, complex, but unified, and strong?

Does your thesis statement offer an insightful, dynamic point of view (one that does not merely echo one of your sources)?

Does the rest of your essay follow the map outlined in your thesis paragraph?

Is your research relevant and strong? Are you using it accurately to support your argument?

How well do you use quotations?

Are your introduction and conclusion effective? Memorable? Distinctive?

Do you stay on topic? Is the writing organized and not repetitive?

Are you using the elements of counter-argument or refutation to deepen the thinking about the topic?

Are there too many grammar/usage/structure errors that distort or confuse meaning?

Do you properly cite and document your sources using MLA in-text citations and a works cited page?

Have you used at least three scholarly/professional sources and three popular sources?

    Sources

This assignment requires that you incorporate a total of six sources, minimum, into your paper, including one scholarly source. Of course, you are welcome to have more than six sources! But what is a scholarly source? A scholarly or academic source could be an article from a scholarly journal, a chapter from an academic book (i.e., a book published by an academic press), or statistical data from a government database. A non-academic source would be an article from a magazine, newspaper, or website; an editorial from a newspaper, a film, a popular book, a music album, etc.

Question: Does TikTok culture shorten attention spans in a way that affects education and professional readiness?

Notes: Include direct quotes and in-text citations in MLA format.
