Your job is to explore issues that are affecting patient care, staff workload, and hospital operations. Your first task is to identify and explain the current issues in the emergency department and explore tools that you might use to address them. Your work will be shared with hospital leadership to help guide their next steps in improving operations and processes within the Green Valley Hospital emergency department.

Choose a healthcare organization and identify a strategic initiative that is currently underway or proposed as part of a strategic plan. You may use your current employer, another real healthcare organization, or a realistic composite organization; be explicit about which you are using. It is fine to use pseudonyms for privacy reasons. Please prepare a paper that discusses: 1. Context and Strategy (approx. 1 page) Briefly describe the organization (type, size, setting) and its mission/vision/strategic direction. Describe the strategic initiative and why it was chosen (link to a key environmental or internal issue). Identify two critical planning issues the initiative addresses and explain why they are critical for this organization. 2.
