our research poster should set out the research study you have undertaken for your dissertation and should include three key elements:

The background for your study you can draw on information from your proposal here. Your key aim is to provide clear rationale for the research study you have undertaken

your methods where you set out your research design, data collection methods, and analysis, and

your findings where you set out the results of your research study

You should be prepared to answer questions about the research you have undertaken, the choices you have made, and what you have found out. This is also a chance to reflect on the implications of your findings with your markers and anyone else who asks about your research. As such, you may also want to think about implications/recommendations for research, policy and practice as and where this is relevant.

  • Cyber ThreatRiskAttack Landscape Survey

    Assessment Type: Survey

    Format: Individual Assignment

    Description:

In this assignment, you are required to research and analyze and conduct in-depth survey of the current cyber threatriskattack landscape, exploring the evolving nature of cybersecurity challenges faced by organizations today. You need to focus on cyber threat landscape from a global, GCC and UAE perspective that

changes both over time and has significant impact on the organization and the internetworked users (IU).

The objective is to examine and critically assess how risks, threats, and attacks interrelate, and how they shape business vulnerabilities in various industries and what organizations are doing to protect themselves.

    You are expected to:

Part A: Identify at least 10 real-world examples of cyber incidents from recent years, analyze their causes and impacts, and evaluate the broader trends these cases reveal. The analysis should include specific discussion of:

Risk: The potential for loss or damage to assets, systems, or data.

Threat: The actors, vectors, and conditions that could exploit vulnerabilities.

Attack: Specific incidents or actions taken to compromise confidentiality, integrity, or availability.

Identify and analyze the emergence and discovery of threats and the associated vulnerabilities that

provide cybercriminals with new attack opportunities (pre covid and post covid).

Part B: Review and comment on current best practices and strategies organizations employ for risk mitigation, including frameworks, technologies, and governance approaches. Identify the global events such as the COVID-19 pandemic compelling organizations to make major changes to their IT infrastructure.

    Deliverable:

A comprehensive written report (~2,000 words) that:

    (Use this report template)

    1. Explains the relationship between risk, threat, and attack in the cybersecurity context.
    2. Provides at least three detailed case studies from recent real-world incidents.
    3. Identifies patterns and trends in the current cyber landscape.
    4. Discusses the effectiveness of current industry/business best practices for risk mitigation.

    Assignment Evaluation Criteria:

    Depth and clarity of analysis.

Relevance and credibility of cited examples.

    Instructions

Below I have attached a music review about a recent record from a substack to which I subscribe. Read it, and then answer the following questions.

    1) Is the music review interesting? Why or why not?

    2) What standards does the writer use in evaluating this music (they will be implied)? That is, why, in his opinion, is the music good or bad? Can you tell?

Then, listen to the music: “Aurora” by Lathe of Heaven (I am not familiar with this band, so you don’t have to pretend to like it — fine if you do, though). You can find it on youtube @ .

    3) Did the reviewer do a good job? Why or why not?

    4) Finally, write a line or two describing the music — don’t use labels. Instead, use descriptive language to describe literally what you hear (“Bad” or “rock” are not good description; “a four/four beat with hi hat” is much more specific. If you struggle with technical terms, you can also use fun similes: “sounds as if Robert Smith got hit in the back of the head with a wrench.”

  • cj

Note: Any quotes are from the book of readings.

You need to read and review two articles from the book of readings, Critical Issues in Policing.

    • Police Officers as Warriors or Guardians: Empirical Reality or Intriguing Rhetoric, McLean et al., pages 233 – 257
    • Solidarity and the Code of Silence, Alpert et al., pages 300 – 315

The first article is a research article that explores police officers as warriors or guardians. During my career in the justice system, the question of whether police officers should have a warrior or guardian approach to their job offered no easy answer. At the outset, I had second thoughts about this article as I prepared to open this module. It is an academic research paper that relies on quantitative analysis. The math is difficult to follow without the requisite foundation. However, for this review, concentrate on the discussion offered by the authors.

One question the authors attempt to answer is whether the warrior and guardian orientations are empirically distinct. There are three possible answers.

    1. Officers may be either warriors or guardians. Officers cannot be both.
    2. In reality, there is no distinction between a warrior and a guardian mindset. They are part of the same construct.
    3. A warrior and guardian mindset are distinct. However, individual officers can support both constructs.

The warrior mindset approaches police work with an eye on “officer safety and prioritizes crime fighting as a law enforcement officer’s primary mission.” This approach is consistent with the traditional notion of police work and training. According to the article, warrior officers “view their place in society as the line between good and evil.”

The guardian mindset is viewed as an alternative to the warrior orientation. It emphasizes service over crimefighting. There is a direct relationship between the police and the community served, with a goal to build better relationships.

The ultimate goal is to improve law enforcement. Do you favor one approach over the other? Do you believe that, after reading this article, officers can incorporate both mindsets in their work? The answer to both questions and others can inform how police agencies and individual officers are best able to do their job and serve the public.

Despite the heavy emphasis on analysis of data, I hope you find the article interesting and informative.

The Alpert, Noble, and Rojek article on the code of silence is an easier read. The authors take a deep dive into the code of silence that many believe exists within police and law enforcement culture.

The authors start by discussing how a code of silence is not exclusive to police. It is recognized to occur within most professional groups and organizations. However, they recognize that the consequences for a code of silence are often greater for professions like medicine than for college professors. The two major examples used by the authors concern cases from Chicago and one from Miami. It is easy for the reader to understand the scope of the abuse and find it abhorrent.

The authors paint a narrative that places law enforcement officers in a difficult environment. The demands of the job, the organization, and the fear of retaliation impact officers and create an environment where reporting misconduct is discouraged. It is noted that officers have different levels of discomfort when it comes to reporting incidents. The more egregious the incident, the more likely a report is made.

One concern I have is that the examples used in this type of article are the most egregious and obvious. It is difficult for officers and an agency to deal with a claim of misconduct when the misconduct is not clear. Does the mere fact of a report severely impact an officer’s career?

It is an interesting article. The bottom line faced by those reading the article is how to end or at least mitigate the reluctance to come forward.

For this assignment, you must reflect on both articles and tell me what you learned, what you found interesting, and what, if anything, you take away from the articles that you can use or think about using in the future. You have a lot of latitude in completing this assignment. However, I want to read a serious reflection.

Consider that my comments and any quotes are all from the articles or drawn from the articles.

Submit the assignment as a Word/Office document that is equivalent to two to three pages. However, there is no page limit. Outside sources may help to enhance your grade.

Double-space between paragraphs. Single-space between lines within paragraphs. A good assignment starts with an introduction and ends with a summary or conclusion.

Grading will consider content along with grammar, essay format, spelling, use of terminology, paragraph structure, and sentence structure. Submit the Review as a Word/Office document.

  • Submit a Draft of the Exemplification Essay

FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES CAREFULLY AND YOU WILL SUCCEED

There are 6 steps here. Pay attention to every one. Complete them all.

NOTE: DO NOT USE Artificial Intelligence services to produce any part of this assignment. I will not accept submissions which I deem to be AI-generated. This is a fundamental course and you owe it to yourself to master the practice before you proceed.

    1. Review the guidelines in Module 2 Resources, above, “”

    2. Write an Introduction to your essay. Your introduction should:

    a. Describe the components of what makes a good life (financial security, family, etc)

    b. Describe how practicing virtues makes the good life possible

    c. State as the last sentence your thesis statement including the three practical virtues you have chosen to exemplify

3.Write your three Body Paragraphs. Each Body Paragraph should:

    a. Define the virtue in your own words (e.g., what is courage? the absence of fear?). DO NOT quote from a dictionary or any other source. Bring your own thinking to bear on your definition.

    b. Write a detailed example in which you describe how someone you know or have contact with has practiced the virtue (NO CELEBRITIES, HISTORICAL FIGURES, RELIGIOUS FIGURES–specific, real-world examples). USE as much detail as possible to evoke the experience for your reader. (Look up “evoke”–it’s a key word in our process.

    c. Describe how practicing the virtue made a practical, observable difference for the practitioner (i.e., how did the person practicing the virtue benefit). DO NOT simply say the person felt good about themselves. We are looking for practical benefits of practicing virtue.

    4. Write a Conclusion that does not simply recite your points. Instead, you can consider what particular difficulties are involved in practicing these specific virtues. Or you might discuss possible exceptions to the benefits principle–a situation in which practicing virtue is not rewarded. Or you might meditate on how virtues might be practiced too intensely or with a narrow focus–so when does courage become foolhardiness? when does patience mean tolerating injustice? (You can conclude with anything that extends your ideas or applies them more broadly; just don’t recite your main points.)

    Checklist.

    ***My INTRODUCTION:

    a. Describes the components of what makes a good life (financial security, family, etc)

    b. Describes how practicing virtues makes the good life possible

    c. States as the last sentence a thesis statement including the three practical virtues

    ***My BODY PARAGRAPH

    a. Defines the virtue in my own words

    b. Provides a detailed example (NO CELEBRITIES, HISTORICAL FIGURES, RELIGIOUS FIGURES–specific, real-world examples)

    c. Describes how practicing the virtue made a practical, observable difference for the practitioner

    MY CONCLUSION

    a. Is not just a rote repetition of my points

    b. Extends or reconsiders my thesis

    5. Copy the Checklist into your document. Make it the first page. Type your name at the top and indicate you have satisfied the Checklist.

    6. Submit your Draft here as a .DOC.

Do NOT submit PDF. Submit .DOC only.

  • Critical Analysis Essay

After reading Hamlet analyze in a 4-5 page essay. You must support your analysis with literary criticism. Alternatively, you can refute a piece of criticism with your own analysis. As you read and brainstorm, think about what strikes you as intriguing about the texts. My theme i chose is: Action vs. Inaction

    You could argue:

    • Hamlet is trapped between thought and action
    • Overthinking as both intelligence and weakness
    • Comparison to Laertes
    • How delay leads to greater tragedy

i will include a model of an essay and how it should kind of look like, i will also include the rubric please follow it. also make sure theres at least 2 sources being used one of them can be the book Hamlet and the other can be google scholar. ask questions if needed.

Here are two **~200-word peer responses** written with a natural graduate-level tone and human element, each including **two references**. Proofread, no AI, NO EM DASHES, ADD HUMAN ELEMENT ### **Reply to Discussion Post 1 I appreciated how you distinguished Hofstede as showing what cultures value and Trompenaars as showing how people respond when values collide. That framing really highlights why both models matter in OD work. In my experience collaborating across teams with different work styles, conflict rarely comes from not knowing cultural differences exist. It usually comes from people being unsure how to act when expectations clash, such as when relationship building slows down a task-focused deadline. Your emphasis on Trompenaars reconciliation approach reflects the real tension practitioners face when balancing global consistency with local norms. I also agree that Hofstede provides a strong structural starting point. Understanding dimensions such as individualism or power distance gives OD practitioners a baseline for anticipating communication preferences and leadership expectations. However, Trompenaars relational lens seems more practical when facilitating change conversations because it encourages dialogue rather than labeling behaviors. Combining both frameworks can help practitioners move from diagnosis to action, which is often where change efforts succeed or fail. Overall, your comparison highlights how cultural frameworks should be used together rather than in isolation. One helps us understand the landscape, while the other helps us navigate it in real time with empathy and flexibility. **References** Hofstede, G., Hofstede, G. J., & Minkov, M. McGraw Hill. — ### **Reply to Discussion Post 2 Your discussion did a great job explaining the theoretical and practical differences between Hofstede and Trompenaars. I especially liked your point that Hofstede is more diagnostic while Trompenaars is more dynamic. That distinction resonates because many OD professionals start with assessment models but ultimately need tools that help people work through real organizational dilemmas. In multicultural environments, leaders often struggle less with identifying differences and more with managing competing expectations, such as balancing hierarchy with empowerment or structure with flexibility. Your connection to intervention design was also insightful. Cultural awareness is not only about understanding values but also about shaping how change initiatives are communicated and implemented. For example, in higher uncertainty avoidance cultures, leaders may need clearer structure and reassurance during change efforts, while in more relationship focused environments, trust building might come first. Trompenaars emphasis on integrating opposing perspectives encourages leaders to see cultural tension as an opportunity for innovation rather than a barrier. I also appreciated how you addressed the evolving nature of culture in organizations. While Hofstede provides a valuable macro lens, Trompenaars reminds practitioners that culture is experienced through everyday interactions. Using both frameworks together can help leaders design more inclusive and adaptive OD strategies. **References** Hofstede, G. (2001). *Cultures consequences* (2nd ed.). Sage Publications.
