Plato’s Allegory of the Cave – Ancient Worlds Greece & Rome
Watch the attached claymation (slightly hilarious sound effects) video of Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, which is from his famous written work Republic.
If you require the closed captioning, you will want to find the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69F7GhASOdM, but note that the captioning keeps saying the prisoners are changed, they are actually CHAINED. The issue is they won’t change!
Remember, an allegory is a story created with the purpose of teaching a lesson. Here, the lesson appears to be that education and experiencing the world for one’s self are important ideas. We can’t all just live in a cave.
After you watch the video, answer the following prompt in a few sentences: Discuss a time when you learned a big lesson about the world. What had you previously thought was true? What prompted you to change your way of thinking to what you believe today? How has that experience of thinking in a new way changed your life?
Your experience is your own and I really just want you to recognize your own “enlightened moment.” Tell me about it in as much detail as you choose to use

MGT-520 Managing performe Discussion
In your textbook, in Chapter 2, Figure 2-1, page 42, provides an overview of the performance management process and its associated components. There are many critical factors that contribute to the successful implementation of a performance management system. Failure to understand these factors can result in issues for organizations, leaders, and employees.
Consider the scenario below and explain how each aspect of the performance management process, as noted in figure 2-1, can be altered/addressed to ensure employees success.
Scenario
When Amal was hired on for her role as an Administrative Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer, she was thrilled about the opportunity to work for Organization ABC. Unfortunately, the information provided in her job description was limited. After a month on the job, despite receiving two days of training from the person Amal replaced, Amals supervisor noticed that her performance was inadequate. Amals current supervisor knows that she is a phenomenal worker, based upon past employer references.
Response Items to Address
To ensure Amals success, and the success of future employees, what aspects of the performance management process need revision? Also, how can future performance management aspects be successfully addressed?

Family diversity and partnership in early childhood educatio…
NAEYC Key Assessment #5: Our Diverse Community Family Tree Celebrating Families and Building Partnerships Overview: This Key Assessment engages preservice teachers in exploring family diversity, community, and partnership in early childhood settings. Across five parts, candidates design and implement (or plan, when implementation is not permitted) activities that promote culturally responsive, inclusive practices aligned with NAEYC standards. Course Context: This project will be completed in conjunction with your field placement and through online submissions. Some components may be adapted or completed hypothetically if your placement site restricts parent or family participation. Documentation, planning, and reflection remain essential to demonstrate mastery of the standards. Submission Format: Each part will be submitted separately throughout the term for feedback. You will compile all revised parts into your Key Assessment #5 Portfolio at the end. Part 1: Introducing the Concept of Family, Community, Diversity, and Partnership (NAEYC 1c, 2a, 3d, 6b) Objective: To introduce the concept of family diversity and partnership between families and educators while encouraging engagement through inclusive communication. Instructions: Create a Family Letter or Newsletter using Canva, Smore, or another digital tool. The letter should: Introduce the Our Diverse Community Family Tree project. Explain how families can share information about their family traditions, cultures, and structures. Emphasize respect for all families and sensitivity to trauma or family circumstances. Select and briefly describe 23 childrens books or online read-alouds that highlight diverse families. Ask families to suggest a favorite story or tradition theyd like represented in the classroom. In your written narrative, describe how you introduced the topic of family diversity to children in your placement (or how you would if not permitted). Include examples of questions you asked or would ask children, such as: What makes a family? How are families alike and different? Why is it important to have all kinds of families in books? Submission Requirements: Copy of the newsletter/letter sent home or planned. A 12 page narrative describing how you introduced and discussed family diversity in your classroom (actual or hypothetical). Save for your portfolio.
