Corrections using AI
I would like the analysis of the research in the final section of the paper to be revised. Specifically, the analysis should be based on the data provided in the Excel file, and appropriate charts/graphs should be created and incorporated to support the findings.
The use of AI tools for data processing and visualization is acceptable. However, the interpretation, discussion, and overall analysis must be carried out carefully, accurately, and in a proper academic manner.

Writing Question
PHS-111 Module Five: Reading Assignment
Directions:
1. Download the following assignment and fill in the answers to the questions as you read the chapters in your book and the article links. You may use either a different color or font to differentiate between the question and your answer. Make sure to display the question and then the answer for each bullet. These are your notes (similar to what you’d take in class if you were attending a lecture). You don’t need to write in complete sentences or use in text citations, but make sure each question is answered fully so you can reference them for the other assignments in the week.
2. When finished, upload your completed version as a .doc or .pdf file extension and submit to this assignment.
For your reference, under the Files tab, in the “Grading Policies” folder, there is a rubric labeled “Reading Assignment Rubric” for how the reading assignments will be graded. This rubric and grading scheme will be used for all reading assignments throughout the semester. All reading assignments for the semester can also be found under the Files tab in the “Reading Assignments” folder. Feel free to work ahead on these.

Module 8 Discussion Literary Devices and Themes with Thesis…
- Read all module content, the discussion instructions, and the rubric.
- Part 1: Identify literary devices in a short story and write an analysis of how they convey a theme or greater meaning for the text. [Post here: 40+ words]
- Part 2: Write your working thesis for your Unit 3 essay based on the theme and supporting literary devices identified in Part 1. [Post here: a single, concise sentence in bold]
- Part 3: Explain how you plan to support your thesis, including textual references with parenthetical citations. [Post here: 50+ words]
- Part 4: Thoughtfully respond to classmates’ posts [Replies: At least two classmates, 40+ words each]
Purpose
In this post you will discuss the connection between literary devices and themes of a text through the composition of a thesis statement. This discussion will function as pre-writing, or a foundation, for your first full essay composition in the course.
*This discussion aligns with Learning Outcomes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 9.
Tasks
Consider your work from the Module 7 Discussion with identifying literary devices. For this post, you will work to make connections between the literary devices you identified and a theme, or greater significance within the text, to create a working thesis.
Part 1
Identify and examine the function of the literary devices in the text. How do the literary devices convey a theme or point to a greater meaning in the text? Remember that a text may have more than one theme, but you are only required to write about one of them. Provide your analysis in at least 40 words (4-5 sentences), keeping in mind that this discussion board serves as a foundation for your essay in this unit. We recommend you focus on the same text you wrote about in our previous discussion board, but you may opt to write about a different text.
Part 2
Taking into account your response to Part 1, craft a working thesis for your Unit 3 Essay and include it in bold in your post. This is an opportunity to check your progress towards that essay and get feedback at a critical juncture. The thesis should focus on why and how your chosen story from this unit uses literary devices to convey a greater meaning within the text. Keep in mind that your thesis should ideally be a single, concise sentence.
Part 3
Then, in no less than 50 words ( 5-6 sentences) explain how you plan to support your argument, ensuring you are as specific as possible. Remember that, as you reference the text, you will need to include MLA-formatted parenthetical citations, as citations are required for all sources, including the texts provided in this course. Citations should include the authors last name (first reference) and the page number(s). A Works Cited-style entry is not required for discussions, but if included, your instructor may provide feedback to correct formatting issues.
Part 4
Respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts to offer constructive suggestions on their thesis statements; refer to your course content on thesis statements to help guide your responses. Your goal is NOT to correct or criticize but to offer helpful suggestions or ideas for their consideration. Your replies should be constructive and in lengths of no fewer than 40 words (approximately four to five sentences) per reply.
Grading Criteria
Neither additional outside sources nor AI (including grammar checkers) may be used for this discussion.
Be sure to view the before you begin your post to understand how your work on this discussion will be evaluated. This activity may use a different grading rubric than other discussions and assignments.
