Review the statement below as your guideline for writing the Library Research paper and
creating the PowerPoint Presentation related to the Research paper.
The topic is 2 parts:
I Explain the following Key Economic term: (one page total)
a. How GNP is calculated (10 points)
b. Define expansion and Output gap (10 Points)
c. The effect of multiplier expenditure and revenues (10 points)
II- Critical analysis of the current U.S.A. Economy; Problem and Solution (40 points, two
pages total)
Research Paper
1. The paper should be at least 2-4 pages…
2. Its required the economic students use some data and statistics to support their statement.
3. Use either MLA or APA Styles of Writing. Additional information reg. MLA styles of writing
and rubric are posted on Canvas.
4. No matter what style of writing you will use, students must do the Works Cited, Footnote,
References and correct grammar.
Rubric will be used for grading the paper.
5. There are 2 articles and links provided in Canvas under the assignments tab (Research Project
Folder). You may review those links as a resource for your writing or use any others as you feel
it fits in the topic.
6. The writing portion is worth 70 Points overall.
PowerPoint Presentation
1. The second part requires students to create a PowerPoint file with at least 8slides
2. Follow the format below:
The first slide should contain your video clip that you produce as a presenter that include
your topic and picture (20 second clip is sufficient) Example: Hi class…my name is Ali
Roodsari…and my topic is: The U.S. Economy . The video clip is NOT mandatory,
but it shows your professionalism as a presenter on this subject.
3. Slide # 8 should be designed to ask any questions your audience may have.
4. The remaining slides 2 to 7 should include a summary of your paper and 5 bullets in
each slide.
5. Its recommended that you enhance the PowerPoint slides by using a relevant picture to
the topic and animation, transition and sound. This project is worth 30 points overall.
