Read the article carefully. Then complete the tasks below. Your responses must be written in complete sentences.
1. Evaluate an Argument
- Choose ONE argument from the article (either supporting or opposing physician-assisted dying).
- Quote the sentence from the article that introduces this argument.
- Explain whether you find this argument convincing or not convincing, and give a reason for your evaluation.
2. Identify a Rhetorical Appeal (Ethos, Pathos, or Logos)
- Identify whether the author uses ethos (credibility), pathos (emotion), or logos (logic) in the paragraph where the argument appears.
- Quote one sentence from the paragraph.
- Explain why this sentence is an example of ethos, pathos, or logos.
3. Overall Interpretation of the Reading
- After reading the entire article, explain which side of the debate the article presents more strongly: the argument for physician-assisted dying or the argument against it.
