Influences on food habits

The term food habits (or eating habits) refers to why and how people eat, which foods they eat, and with whom they eat, as well as the ways people obtain, store, use, and discard food. Individual, social, cultural, religious, economic, environmental, and political factors all influence people’s eating habits.

Instructions: Please do the following:

1. Read the food habits discussion question posted below. Answer the question fully. Use the rubrics as your guide. Complete discussion board assignment by Sunday 11:59 pm:

2. Write your first initial and last name in the “Subject” of your post.

3. In the body of your post, provide a 250 word (maximum) response to the following question(s):

“What are some social and psychologic factors that influence our food habits?” Using your own experiences, give an example of a family custom or special observance that involves food.

Initial RESPONSE: Unless directed otherwise, student responses must thoughtfully address the question and use at least two (2) of the class readings and/or evidence from peer reviewed nursing and/or related health care professional journals to substantiate your response.
