In this assessment, learners will analyze the impact of organizational climate on workplace bullying and harassment, and explore effective strategies for cultivating a respectful, inclusive, and safe work environment.

Instructions:

Our readings explore the importance of an organizations climate in either fostering or preventing incidents of workplace bullying and harassment. A positive, safe, and respectful climate can significantly reduce the frequency of negative behaviors, while an unsafe climate can make such behaviors more common. In this assignment, you will explore the factors that contribute to creating a healthy workplace climate and reflect on how leadership, communication, and accountability play key roles in prevention bully and harassment.

Begin by looking for studies, articles, or example of organizations that have successfully created a positive climate and reduced incidents of bullying and harassment. Following your research, reflect on possible strategies for improving the workplace climate in an organization by considering the following elements:

  1. How should leaders model respectful behavior?
  2. What steps can be taken to ensure open and honest communication between management and employees?
  3. How can employees be held accountable for their actions in ways that promote respect and reduce bullying?
  4. What kinds of programs, workshops, or resources can be put in place to educate employees about respectful behaviors?
