Research Paper
1. 6-to-8-page paper, double spaced, not including cover page and references, on a topic of your
choice that fits within the course discussions.
2.In-text citation, cover page, and reference page must be in APA format
3. Between 10 and 15 references in the form of journal articles, and books. The use of web
pages and newsprint is limited to 3 of the 15 references. Thus, for every 4 journal or book or
combination of journal article and book you can have one webpage or newsprint article. You
can have more references.
The research paper will be grades as follows:
o Introduce the reader to the problem
o Provide some evidence that the problem exists
o Provide information of the respective variables identified
in the research questions
o Review the literature according to the independent
(causal) variables and dependent variable (affected)

o A brief discussion on argument of the theory
o Discuss how the theory will help you and
the reader understands the problem being discussed
o Present a conceptual model of the research
o State the research question and hypotheses
o Present a paragraph explaining:
The type of research
o In this section of the paper, you will discuss the findings
of your research as it related to:
The literature i.e., is the findings different from
what is known in the literature
Do the findings support the theory?
Can the findings be inferred to the population?
o Listing the sources in alphabetical order
o Correct ordering of the authors name
o The authors names must be listed as they appear on the
source
o Listing of author(s) name, year, title, edition (if
applicable), publisher,
o For journal articles, the name of the journal, volume #,
section # and page #s
o MUST be APA or ASA format
