- Create a section in your Social Change Portfolio called Part 3: Theories of Prevention
- Review the Learning Resources for this week and consider Theories of Prevention related to a community problem.
- Select one or two theories from the learning resources that you think might be a good fit for your problem and intervention. Do not use the Socio-ecological theory.
- Identify a generative AI platform for this assignment (ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude are approved platforms)
- Create a prompt focused on Prevention Theory that asks AI to:
- Explain how a prevention theory (or theories) from this weeks learning resources could be applied to your identified community challenge and intervention.
- Summarize the research evidence that supports your chosen theory (or theories).
- Example prompt (to be revised and strengthened for your specific topic): What is an evidence-based program that uses mentoring to prevent substance use in youth? What research support exists for this evidence-based program?
- Craft a second prompt focused on evidence-based programs that asks AI to:
- Identify an evidence-based program appropriate for addressing your target problem with your chosen intervention.
- Describe research evidence that supports the selected evidence-based program.
- Example prompt (to be revised and strengthened for your specific topic): How could I use the theory of planned behavior to support a mentoring program for youth at risk for substance use? What research support exists for the theory of planned behavior?

- Turn on Track Changes in Word.
- Carefully review the AIs response and use your professional and academic knowledge to:
- Address any incongruencies or AI inconsistencies with the literature
- Add missing ideas or context
- Ensure theories are prevention theories from the learning resources and not treatment theories

- Cite sources correctly (as needed)
