Task 2: Proposal Scheme

Task description:

This work is based on the fundamental principles of behavior analysis by requiring students to develop a proposal focused on a single behavioral concept, such as motivational operations, verbal behavior or stimulus control. Students will define variables, describe a possible design or intervention and connect their ideas with relevant empirical research. This scheme will serve as the guiding plan of the final project and will demonstrate ethical alignment, conceptual understanding and academic integration.

Requirements:

Length: 46 pages (excluding cover and references)

Format: APA 7th edition

References: minimum of 5 peer-reviewed academic sources

At least 2 empirical studies that support the design or intervention

At least 1 conceptual or theoretical source that connects with fundamental principles

Include, when possible, recently peer-reviewed publications (within the last 10 years)

Required sections

1. Cover

Follow the APA format 7th edition (title, student name, university, course, instructor and date).

2. Introduction and research approach (1 page)

Present the selected behavioral principle (e.g., motivational operations, stimulus control or verbal behavior).

Explain why this topic is important in applied and theoretical contexts.

Identify a clear purpose or research question that guides your proposal.

3. Literature review and justification (12 pages)

Summarise the main research findings relevant to the chosen behavioral principle.

Highlight the most important theoretical and empirical contributions.

Identify gaps, controversies or emerging areas that justify your proposed approach.

Establish clear connections between classic and contemporary fonts.

4. Proposed design or intervention (12 pages)

Describe your proposed behavioral change design, intervention or experimental approach.

Identify the independent and dependent variables and their operational definitions.

Describe the data collection and measurement system (e.g., frequency, duration, latency).

If applicable, specify the type of single-subject design (e.g., reversal, multiple baseline, alternating treatments).

Explain how this proposal aligns with the methodology of behavior analysis.

5. Ethical and practical considerations (1 page)

Analyze the ethical implications based on the BACB Code of Ethics (2022).

Identify how your design guarantees customer dignity, data integrity, and the use of less restrictive procedures.

Address topics such as consent, cultural relevance and social validity.

6. Conclusion ( page)

Reiterate the importance of your study or proposed intervention.

Explain how your proposal contributes to the field and prepares it for the final project (capstone).

7. References

List all fonts in APA format 7th edition.
