  • Investigate Literature for Selected Interest Area

Assignment : Investigate Literature for Selected Interest Area

    InstructionsBackground

For this task, you will use the University library to perform research in your chosen problem domain of IT policy and strategy as part of IT Governance framework. Find 2 articles that involve some form of empirical research from the past 4 years. This could involve quantitative or qualitative methods. In addition, find 3-5 more articles that involve business journals and practical application of IT policy and strategy (Hint: Harvard Business Review is one example) also from the past 4 years. Make sure some of your articles have a global component. You will have located a total of 5-7 articles.

    Instructions

Once you review the literature, summarize how the articles are related to each other. How are they similar? How do they differ? Then, conduct an analysis of findings across all of the articles? Are there any current operational and/or technical elements that are critical in todays information technology landscape that is missing or not thoroughly discussed? What are your overall impressions from these readings in regard to the topic of IT Strategic and Governance formulation and implementation?

Your discussion should synthesize your findings by referring to the literature review conducted in your chosen problem domain. Do not summarize the articles. Instead, use them to inform yourself as you formulate a logical narrative that addresses the following:

    1. Determine the type of research that exists. Be sure to address this question from both an academic (theory) and business (practice) viewpoint.
    2. Identify three areas of interest to you from a theoretical standpoint.
    3. Identify which key constructs, concepts, or variables are used in these articles.
    4. Describe how the articles demonstrate innovative concepts in IT policy and strategy.
    5. Explain how the articles collectively advocate for proactive research, evaluation, and implementation of new ideas.
    6. Identify what you can draw upon in the articles that address beneficial and detrimental topics in IT policy and strategy for organizations.
    7. Explain how the articles approach IT policy and strategy from a global perspective.

    Requirements: 2 full pages

  • Creative Teaching Philosophy

    This culminating assignment serve

s as your final exam for the course and is intended to help you

articulate your beliefs about the role of creativity in teaching in order to document/identify where

you are by the end of the course and to set goals for your future teaching practice. Through this

assignment, you will be demonstrating what you learned throughout this course and how this

learning impacts your ongoing understanding of early childhood education and the changing notion

    of yourself as an educator.

    9

    Blake Spring 2026 ECPK 316

You will address the essential questions:

    What is your definition of

    creativity

    ?

    What do you

    believe

about creativity and young children and how are those beliefs

    supported through research/evidence-based sources?

How is creativity involved with who you are becoming as a teacher?

How can you advocate for creativity in education?

How can you use creative pedagogies to address inequities in education?

    The assignment consists of

    two parts

: an artifact and a written reflection on your decisions in

    making your artifact.

    Artifact:

You will create a creative artifact of your own design that will serve as a statement of your

teaching philosophy. It needs to be:

Meaningful to You! Ask what will best remind you of your beliefs about teaching in

six months time? In a years time? In 5 years time?

Complex. It needs to reflect at least some of the many concepts we cover this

semester. Ask whether you can write a 3-5 page explanation/reflection of the ideas

    youre representing.

Well-Crafted. While I will not be grading you on your drawing ability, for example, I

expect that this is something that you put time into. Do not expect that you can do

this entire project the morning it is due. Ask whether this is something that you

would want to see/experience five years from now.

You will create a brief video presentation in which you share your artifact with your classmate and

me and explain your design decisions (think of it as a brief video version of the personal statement).

You will respond to your classmates video with brief feedback.

    Personal Statement:

You will write a 3-4 page reflection/statement on the ideas contained in your

artifact. Depth, analysis, and critical thinking are essential components of this assignment. While

reflection is not about generating one right answer, it is important to note that not all reasoning is

equally valid. In this sense, your opinion is merely a starting point. You should be informed by the

ideas and concepts presented by the scholars we have studied in our inquiry into early childhood

education. Statements and claims must be supported with evidence, readings, and/or resources from

the course and, in some cases, independent research that results from consideration of multiple

perspectives. You are asked to cite a minimum of 5 of the materials from the semester using APA.

This is where youll describe your reasons for designing your artifact the way you did. This is also

where youll describe how youve grown in your understanding of the concepts covered in this

    course.

    Consider the following questions:

Have I adequately referenced course materials to support my ideas using both in-text

citations and a corresponding reference list?

Have I clearly explained my reasoning behind why I chose to do my particular artifact?

Have I clearly explained the ideas represented in the artifact in verbal form?

Have I explained the reasons behind the conclusions I make about

creativity/teaching/learning/children/etc. make and acknowledge the complexity of issues?

    10

    Blake Spring 2026 ECPK 316

Have I addressed how our learning impacts my ongoing understanding of early childhood

education and the changing notion of myself as an educator?

Have I made any revisions to the project based on my peers and/or instructors feedback?

  • Evaluation design and impact assessment

2.1. Midterm. Part 1: Evaluation design paper For this assignment, you will describe the program, determine the scope of evaluation, and lay out an evaluation plan. Describing a program will include background of the program, the scope of the program (e.g., targeted clients, geographic area, and so forth), and how the program is supposed to work (the program theory) including the theory of change diagram. The scope of evaluation will include the current state of the program (including issues and challenges), systematic review/synthesis of past evaluation studies and findings, legal mandates for performance audit, purpose of evaluation, and key impact evaluation questions to be addressed. The impact evaluation questions should align the logical framework of the program. Evaluation synthesis is a systematic review of the state of evaluation studies on a specific program or on a specific aspect of a program. It involves gathering evaluation studies and reports performed by different evaluators at different times and then reviewing them systematically to take stock of the existing evaluation findings relating to the goal (outcome) for which the policy or the program was introduced in the first place. Evaluation synthesis helps determine the effectiveness of a policy/program and come up with new evaluation research questions. Next, you will identify the impacts, determine indicators of impacts, and propose an evaluation design to assess the impact. You will also identify the data needs for the indicators of impacts, and how the data will be collected (data collection plan/strategies). It should show which data will address which evaluation questions. Length of the paper: 14 to 15 pages with standard 1-inch margin, double spaced, and 12-point font. It should use Chicago-style author-date citation for in-text citations and for references at the end of the paper. The cover page, appendices, and list of references are outside the page limit.

    3. HR management research paper (450 points). You will select a public human resource (HR) management topic of your interest, ask a research question, and conduct in-depth research. The HR management topic is wide open except for the one used for the midterm exam. For topic ideas, you should think ahead as you encounter class readings, books, peer-reviewed journal articles, professional publications, and other credible sources. You will post a 1-page description of your topic in Canvas no later than Week 12. The topic should be well-focused and framed as a research question. Make sure that the research question is specific enough to allow for in-depth research and analysis. The paper must include (1) introduction/statement of the problem, (2) discussion of the issue of interest, (3) a detailed review of the existing research about the issue, leading to determinants/insights for addressing the issue, (4) discussion of implications of those determinants/insights for organizations for HR management, and (5) conclusion. The paper should follow the format and style of a professional journal in the discipline, such as Public Administration Review or Public Personnel Management. Further guidance will be posted on the course Canvas site. The paper must use at least 8 published sources for detailed review of existing research. These sources can include academic journals, books, government publications, and other professional research reports. The paper should be 15-page long with standard 1-inch margins, double-spaced, and 12-point font. It should use Chicago-style author-date citation for in-text citations and listing of references at the end of the paper. The cover page, appendices, and list of references are outside the page limit. THE TOPIC SHOULD BE COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
