  • Discussion Topic: M7.1 Family Supermarket Shopping Trip

    Part I:

In this discussion, we will discuss the nutritional changes encountered with aging and the challenges adults face in meeting the health needs of varying age groups.

First, lets start with a question based on your opinion and what we have learned so far in past modules:

    • In your opinion, what is the single biggest challenge facing older Americans today that impacts their ability to make quality food choices? How about the single biggest challenge for children? You may have witnessed this personally or in your work.

Remember the shopping trip game in Module 3? Now lets play a game that allows us to shop for a family of four, consisting of two parents, their child, and a grandparent. You will not be graded on playing the game, only on the discussion portion of this activity. Please go shopping in the game as often as youd like. See if you will be able to feed this family within budget and meet their health needs!

To play the game, go out to the Table of Contents of Module 7. Look for “Family Supermarket Shopping Trip Game.” Click on the link to open the game. Remember to return to this discussion to finish our conversation – there are a few more questions for you to answer.

    Evaluate

    Part II:

The remainder of our discussion together will focus on older adulthood. Now applying what youve learned from the readings, videos, and gaming activity, lets go through the rest of the discussion together, one question at a time.

    • What resources can we recommend to adults who are struggling to consume a healthy diet and remain physically active they age? What factors are important to consider in proposing recommendations?
    • You just found out that your community received a state grant to improve the health of older adults by improving access to resources. How should the money be spent (e.g., improving dental health, increasing family support, subsidizing health dietary purchases, etc.)? How would this help to improve an older adults health and wellness? As you discuss this together, consider the challenges and limitations older adults may face, as well as potential strengths, and what the priorities might be among your recommendations for how to spend the money.

The U.S Department of Agriculture’s Pesticide Data Program monitors pesticide residues on agricultural commodities in the food supply, including commodities highly consumed by infants and children .PDP data allow the EPA to assess dietary pesticide residue exposures in the United States. Download a copy of the latest PDP annual summary. Carefully read the document, focusing on nontechnical information such as the executive summary, introduction (Section I) sampling operations section II, sample results and discussion section V, and Appendices F,G, H and I. Imagine your are the district food service director and the district dietitian in Hollywood Florida. You have been thinking about whether or not to include organic vegetables and fruits in school menu. because funds are limited for the district school lunch program, how would you allocate the funds to buy fresh vegetables and fruits for your students? Let’s assume that organic fruits and vegetables are 10% more expensive than traditionally grown food. Reflect and support your decision of either providing organic or nonorganic food for the students in Broward County Florida Use a minimum of three peer-reviewed references and the latest PDP annual summary.

  • Implementing Neural Networks for Text and Web Data Analysis

    Objective:

In this assignment, you will implement a neural network model using Keras (with TensorFlow backend) to solve a text classification problem or web-related application (such as sentiment analysis or web scraping). You will gain hands-on experience with Deep Learning concepts and how they can be applied to text and web data, aligning with the objectives of Module 5.

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Understand the basics of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) and deep learning.
    • Apply deep learning models to text analytics and web data.
    • Evaluate model performance in a text classification task (e.g., sentiment analysis).
    • Understand the integration of Deep Learning techniques for solving real-world problems.

    Instructions:

    Access Google Colab:

    • Open Google Colab and access the notebook directly from the .
    • Open the notebook for Chapter 8: Artificial Neural Networks and follow the code provided in the Colab interface.
    • Execute the code as provided and make necessary adjustments for the task you are working on.

Choose a Text or Web Data Problem:

    • You can choose one of the following options:
    • Sentiment Analysis of Movie Reviews: Use a dataset like the IMDb reviews dataset to classify text as positive or negative sentiment.
    • Web Scraping and Classification: Collect web data (e.g., news articles or tweets) using BeautifulSoup or Tweepy and classify the content based on categories (e.g., topic classification).

Follow the Steps in the Notebook:

    • Step 1: Preprocess the text/web data (e.g., tokenization, stopword removal, and vectorization).
    • Step 2: Create and train a neural network using Keras.
    • Step 3: Evaluate the model using performance metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score.

Ensure that you execute all the code provided in the notebook and take notes on any observations, challenges, or adjustments you make during the process.

    Write a Report:

After running the code and analyzing the results, write a 1-2 page report with the following structure:

    Introduction (100 words):

    • Briefly describe the dataset and classification task. Mention whether you chose text analysis or web data for the project.

    Process (300 words):

    • Explain the steps you followed in the notebook. Discuss data preprocessing, model architecture, training, and evaluation metrics used for performance assessment.

    Findings (200 words):

    • Discuss the performance of the neural network model. Did it work well on the task? What did the evaluation metrics indicate about the models accuracy and reliability?

    Conclusion (100-150 words):

    • Reflect on what you learned from applying deep learning models to text/web data. What insights did you gain about the use of Deep Learning in real-world applications like sentiment analysis or web scraping?

    Deliverables:

    1. Report (2-3 pages, 1000-1200 words)- ensure you have a cover page, no specific format is required, you are free to use APA or any professional format.

    Requirements: video explaination need

  • NAV101: Naval Ethics and Leadership Module 4 Consequences Re…

For this assignment, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Using what you learned in Consequences: The Second Step in the Moral Deliberation Road Map, make a case for why the government officials in New York did the morally right thing by flooding the town of Olive. (You dont have to personally agree with the argument.) Also, explain the counter-argument: Why might someone reasonably think what they did was morally wrong?
    2. Using what you learned in Consequences: The Second Step in the Moral Deliberation Road Map, explain what you should do in Per Diem, using only consequentialist arguments. Which action will bring about the best consequences? Remember to consider the following:
    3. Long- and short-term consequences
    4. Everyone affected by your decision (including people you dont know, like other people in the Fleet and U.S. taxpayers)
    5. How much everyone is affected by your decision (e.g., one person might barely be affected, but another person might be strongly helped or hurt)
    6. What happens if others learn what you did and imitate your behavior?

Note: Your consequentialist argument might go against the constraints argument you made last week. Thats okay! We will try to put all the arguments together later.Guidelines and Requirements
