    Assignment One

Selecting and Creating Data Sets Lesson

This assignment begins the quantitative content of PA 556. An example of what this completed assignment will look like is at the bottom of the page.

The objective of the first assignment is to improve students’ knowledge of statistical software. The software we are going to read about could be used this semester. As you will learn, there are several excellent free statistics softwares that could be used to complete assignments.

    statistical softwares

In evaluating statistical software, you might have asked , “What does statistical analysis software do?” The following figure answers that question. If the procedures in the chart are familiar then that is probably because you have looked at the other statistics assignments for this semester.

    requirements for statistics softwares

Follow this link to a more thorough presentation about free statistics softwares.

The assignment wants you to get together with a statistical software and data set. Besides the statistical software on the list above, AcaStat and Winks are possibilities. The AcaStat student version is $10 . Both of these two statistical software have free demo versions that have been used for statistics assignments.

To complete the assignment you need to accomplish to tasks.

First, get access to a statistics program with a data spread sheet. All statistic programs enter data into a data spread sheet so this first requirement is not difficult. Basically, you need to chose a statistic program for you and get that program installed on your computer.

Second, you need to enter some data into the data spread sheet. By entering data, you are creating a data set. When you get data together with the programs spread sheet, this lets me know that you are comprehending data sets.

The Completed Assignment Could Be Like This.

    I. Discussion about how you chose a statistical program.

II. Discussion about how you chose a data set.

III. Discussion about possible hypotheses (independent variables causes

dependent variable statements) that could be put together from your data set.

IV. Image of how the data set appears on the computer screen loaded in to

    a statistics program.

This portfolio requires you to apply what you have learned with a focus on news writing.

There are three mandatory CHECKPOINTs to complete.

Work through each of the steps on this brief. Doing everything in each step, means youve met the brief (C grade). So, think of ways you can supplement your work by going over and above the brief.

    Steps:

Your portfolio must include the following pieces of writing and its associated elements/ styles (EX: Inverted Pyramid; Champagne Glass), as outlined:

    1. News Article (CHECKPOINT 1 Topic 4)

    • Task: Write a hard news story reporting on a current or recent news event. The focus must be on what happened, who was involved, when, where, and why it matters. The writing must be factual, neutral, and structured using the inverted pyramid style.
    • Word Count: 300 350 words

  • Research – proj

This is a project of subject ( Research in system engineering)

It is contain 2 parts, but in this question I need you to solve the part 1 only and I will give you the part 2 in other question later. In this part only need REPOR.

Course Project – Part 1: Identify a service or activity on which you can conduct hypothesis testing or ANOVA. Collect data and perform statistical analysis on your experimental observations. Write a report detailing the statistical tools and lessons learned. Prepare a presentation for communication of your results to the class.

Course Project – Part 2: Based on Project Part 1, expand your data analysis to analyze more controllable factors and illustrate analysis using either of the following statistical tools: factorial analysis and/or regression. Must have a minimum of 3 factors of 2 levels each. Write a report detailing your analysis and lessons learned. Prepare a presentation for communication of your results to the class

I have already choose the topic ( Comparative Analysis of Cellular Data Usage Across Social Media Applications Using ANOVA)

I conducted an experiment to compare cellular data usage among Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Each application was tested for 10 minutes using the same iPhone and cellular network. I performed 30 trials per application, for a total of 90 measurements.

The data should be analyzed using one-way ANOVA to determine whether there is a significant difference in average data usage between the applications.

I will attached an Excel file containing data usage in every experiment .

I think you can use minitab app to test.

I will also attached 2 word file,

the first one contain the requirment in each section as an instructor want and you can add any more information.

The other file is a draft file i wrote it to explain my idea to you ( may help you – it is old and talk about 2 applications as my previous activity, and now we have 3 applications )

the third is the answer from other person here , with visuals and analysis data. I want to arrange the research in professional way and keep in mind all requirements included in the requirements file

    Requirements: All points
