DP#1 Topic: Facilitating a Culture of Change

Healthcare organizations are constantly evolving to improve patient outcomes, enhance safety, and adapt to new technologies and evidence-based practices. Facilitating a culture of change requires strong leadership, effective communication, and collaboration among interdisciplinary teams. Nurses play a critical role in promoting change by modeling professionalism, advocating for best practices, and addressing resistance.

    Your Task:

Reflect on the following questions and share your insights:

    1. Why is creating a culture of change important in healthcare settings?
    2. How does it impact patient care, staff engagement, and organizational success?
    3. Describe a situation where you experienced or participated in a change initiative in your workplace.
    • What was the change?
    • How did you and your team respond?
    • What strategies helped overcome resistance?
    1. What leadership qualities and communication strategies are essential for promoting a positive change culture?
    2. Consider transparency, active listening, and involving staff in decision-making.
    3. Connect your reflection to at least one pillar from South Universitys College of Nursing and Public Health Conceptual Framework:
    • CaringHow does supporting change demonstrate commitment to patient and staff well-being?
    • CommunicationHow does clear communication reduce resistance and build trust?
    • Critical ThinkingHow do you evaluate evidence and anticipate challenges during change?
    • ProfessionalismHow does embracing change reflect ethical and professional responsibility?
    • HolismHow does a holistic approach ensure that change benefits all dimensions of care?
    • Be sure to include specific examples and personal insights to make your discussion meaningful and relevant to nursing practice. (Updated

  • Week 5 Assignment: Making a Diagnosis

Overview For this assignment, you will practice your diagnostic decision-making skills to prepare you to handle complex, comorbid cases. You will also include multiple diversity factors as you discuss how they ethically inform your approach to the diagnoses, differential diagnoses, and treatment of the person. Lastly, you will learn to be an effective consumer of the research literature as you work to incorporate diversity factors in your diagnoses and treatment. Use the following resources as you complete your diagnoses: DSM-5-TRLinks to an external site.. ICD-11 for Mortality and Morbidity StatisticsLinks to an external site.. Instructions Consider the following case as you write your assignment: Person E is an adult who works from home for the Department of Defense to analyze geographical patterns in aerial data of other countries. Person E likes working from home to have less sensory overload than working in person. Person E has always liked order and prefers doing activities in a certain sequence. When Person E was a child, they recall having thoughts about needing to turn the lights off and on seven times before going to bed and doing other behaviors and sequences of seven, such as brushing teeth, brushing hair, folding clothes, et cetera. Also as a child, Person E felt different from the other children. Smiling, laughing, and other social exchanges seemed very difficult for Person E. Friendships were and continue to be very challenging for Person E. Sometimes, Person E would take to rocking back and forth to soothe themselves. Person E continues to have unwanted, anxious thoughts about the need to carry out activities in sequences of seven. Person E gives in to the urge to do activities in a series of seven, because that seems to be the only thing that reduces the anxiety from such thoughts. Provide a diagnostic formulation for Person E and include the following: Choose a gender for the person in the case. Identify a name for the person in the case and select diversity factors. Include at least two diversity factors from the areas of race, socioeconomic status, religion, age, nationality, sexual orientation, disability status, and military status. Be sure to select two different diversity factors from the ones that you selected in the previous week. Develop a primary and secondary diagnosis with a rationale for why one diagnosis is primary. Using a biopsychosocial approach, justify the diagnostic reasoning for both the primary and secondary diagnosis. If more information is needed for a diagnosis, then state what that information is and why it would be helpful in your diagnostic decision making. Develop a differential diagnosis for both the primary and secondary diagnoses. Discuss how the diversity factors ethically inform the diagnosis and treatment for Person E. Include at least one scholarly source in your discussion of diversity factors for the person in the case. • Financial Analysis

    1. The Situation (What is happening)

You are in a capstone finance course.

    • You are acting like a professional business appraiser.
    • You were assigned a secret, privately owned company (codenamed “Chemicals 29”).
    • You have been given its private financial data (5 years of income statements and balance sheets). That PDF is that data.
    • Your job for the semester is to figure out how much this company is worth.

    2. The Immediate Assignment (Due 2/11 or 2/12)

You have a deadline today/tomorrow at 5:30 PM.

You must turn in two things:

    A. A List of Comparative Companies

    • You need to find publicly traded companies (stocks on the NYSE/NASDAQ) that are similar to “Chemicals 29”.
    • Why? Since “Chemicals 29” is private, we don’t know its stock price. To figure out what its worth, we look at what the stock market thinks similar companies are worth.

    B. A 4-Page Paper

    • Page 1-2: Describe the companies you found. Who are they? What do they make? How big are they?
    • Page 3: Describe how you found them (your research process).
    • Page 4: Probably a bibliography or summary.

    3. Decoding “Chemicals 29.pdf”

Do not panic. The file you attached is not blank.

When business valuation professors give you a private company file, they often strip the name out for privacy (or to make you work for it). Your file contains the raw financials.

    What is in that file:

It looks like there are three pages of numbers.

    • Page 1: Likely the header (Company: Chemicals 29, Date, etc.) – it appears blank here, but might contain the company name in your actual PDF reader.
    • Page 2: Labeled “1”. This is likely the Balance Sheet. It will have lines for Cash, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Equipment, Debt, etc.
    • Page 3: Labeled “5 9 -“. This looks like a fragment of an Income Statement. The “5” and “9” might be years 5 and 9? Or line items? You need to open the actual PDF on your computerit will show the numbers.

Your immediate task: Open that PDF properly and look at the numbers. You need to understand what this company sells to find comparables.

    4. How to Find Comparative Companies (Step-by-Step)

Step 1: Identify the Industry (SIC/NAICS)

You cannot just search “chemicals.” You need to know what kind of chemicals.

    • Look at the inventory or sales on the balance sheet/income statement.
    • Example: Do they sell industrial acids? Adhesives? Cleaning compounds? Fertilizers?
    • Once you know the specific product, look up its SIC Code (Standard Industrial Classification). This is a 4-digit number. The syllabus tells you to do this.

    Step 2: Use the Databases

    The syllabus lists:

    • (Actually, it’s ) – This is where public companies file their financials. You can search by industry.
    • Million Dollar Directory / Wards (Often available through your college library website).
    • Yahoo Finance () – You can screen for stocks by industry.
    • S&P SIC Index (library resource).

    Step 3: Select 3-6 Companies

You don’t need 50. You need a handful that look like your client.

    • Criteria: Similar size (revenue), similar products, similar customers.
    • Examples of Chemical companies: Dow, DuPont, Eastman Chemical, Huntsman, Cabot, etc. (But only pick the ones that match your specific sub-industry).

    5. How to Write the Paper (The “4-Pager”)

Don’t overcomplicate it. The professor wants to see that you know how to research, not that you have the final answer yet.

Paragraph 1: Introduce your client (Chemicals 29) and state the SIC code you determined.

Paragraph 2-4: “Company A is XYZ Corp. They are publicly traded on the NYSE. They manufacture [Product]. They have annual revenues of $X. They are comparable to my client because…”

Paragraph 5: “I found these companies by first identifying the SIC code using [Source]. I then used [Database Name] to filter public companies in that code. I excluded companies that were too large or focused on different subsectors.”

Conclusion: State that this list provides a solid basis for the valuation multiples you will calculate in the next assignment.

    6. Urgent Checklist (Right Now)

    1. Open the PDF properly. Can you see the actual numbers on Page 2 and 3? If yes, identify what they sell.
    2. Go to Yahoo Finance. Click “Screeners” > “Stocks”. Set Industry: “Basic Materials” or “Chemicals”. Browse the list.
    3. Write the paper. Just get the words on the page. It doesn’t have to be perfect finance theory yet; it just has to prove you did the work.
    4. Submit by 5:0. Missing this deadline will drop your final grade a full third (B+ becomes B).

    Attached Files (PDF/DOCX): Chemicals 29.pdf

    Introduction

In this problem set, youll apply valuation formulas to determine whether specific stocks and bonds are fairly priced. Youll calculate intrinsic values, compare them to market prices, and interpret what those differences mean for investors.

Your textbook reading for this week, and the exercises in Activity 5.2 include all of the formulas and information you need to complete this activity.

You can also refer to Appendix E: Using Excel to Solve Financial Exercises in your textbook for additional guidance.

    Activity Instructions

    1. Download the .
    2. Use Excel to complete the following:
    • Bond Valuation: Calculate bond prices given coupon rate, yield to maturity (YTM), and years to maturity.
    • Stock Valuation: Use the Dividend Discount Model (DDM) and the constant growth model.
    • P/E Ratio Valuation: Estimate stock price using earnings and industry P/E ratios.
    1. Compare your calculated intrinsic values to the given market prices.
    2. Write a short interpretation explaining what your results suggest. Are the securities overvalued, undervalued, or fairly priced?

Example: If a bonds intrinsic value is $1,040 but the market price is $990, it may be undervalued, suggesting a potential buying opportunity.

At the end of your submission, include a brief Design Statement explaining the process and tools you used to develop your work. Your statement should be about a paragraph or so, in your own words (rather than formally written), and unique to this assignment. Why are we asking for this? Find out more about .

    Tips for Success

    • Double-check compounding periods. Most bond problems use annual or semi-annual.
    • Use Excel functions such as =PV() and =RATE() to save time and ensure accuracy.
    • Focus on explaining your reasoning, not just showing numbers.

    Writing and Submission Requirements

    • Submit your completed Excel file with visible formulas.
    • Include a brief written summary of 1-2 paragraphs (Word documents only).
    • Use APA format for citations
    • Refer to the for additional grading criteria
    • Include your Design Statement

    Weekly Learning Goal(s):

    1. Calculate the intrinsic value of bonds and stocks.
    2. Distinguish between different types of stocks and bonds.
    3. Apply valuation techniques to real-world investment decisions.

  • Forensic Simulation Activity: Establishing Time of Death

Forensic Simulation Activity: Establishing Time of Death

    Purpose

Students will use critical thinking and forensic reasoning to estimate the time of death and identify key postmortem indicators from a simulated corpse description generated by ChatGPT.

    Instructions

    1. Open ChatGPT.

    2. Enter the following prompt exactly as written below:

You are a corpse simulation. I am a forensic investigator.

Please respond only to the questions I ask about the body. Do not give me information until I ask for it.

I will ask questions about body temperature, rigor mortis, postmortem lividity, decomposition, and signs of water involvement to estimate time and cause of death. Respond as a medical examiner at the scene would.

Begin with the body I found in the woods near a creek. Wait for my first question.

    3. Review ChatGPTs generated case. Read through the description carefully. Take notes on all physical and environmental clues related to the time of death.

    4. Analyze the Evidence:

Estimate time since death (in hours)

Explain how each indicator (rigor mortis, body temperature, lividity, decomposition, etc.) supports your estimate

Identify possible cause and manner of death if clues allow

    5. Write a Brief Investigative Summary (12 pages). Your report should include:

Case Overview: Summary of ChatGPTs simulated scene

Forensic Findings: Description of postmortem indicators

Estimated Time of Death: Based on your analysis

    Reasoning: Explain your logic step-by-step

    Conclusion: Likely cause/manner of death

    6. Submit your report with a screenshot or a copy of the ChatGPT simulation you analyzed.

    Submission Instructions

    • Complete voiceprint activity
    • Format your document as follows:
    • Double-spaced
    • 12-point Times New Roman font
    • inch margins

    **** Key Note**** from professor

    Hi,

    Forensic Simulation Activity

    • For this activity, please use the prompt that I have provided.
    • You will need to review the book on determining Time of Death (TOD).
    • Please do not ask ChatGPT for the time of death. Ask questions you need to determine TOD.
    • I will need you to provide your conversation with ChatGPT, starting from the prompt. I will review what questions you asked to help you determine TOD. If you do not ask questions about rigor mortis, lividity, etc. (pg 306 – 312), I will deduct points from the assignments.
    • After asking the necessary questions, please provide a summary in your own words.
    • Again, in your submission, please provide:
    • Chat log with ChatGPT
    • Investigative summary

If you have any questions, please let me know.

  • reflective submission

create a mindmap with different sections coming from the main biox “atlanta sport stadiums & urban development” the other boxes are “housing, displacement, and homelessness’, ‘sustainability and enviornemntal impact’ ‘transportation and mobility’ , ‘community engagement and cultural preservation’ , ‘social justice and economic equity’ then add another box for ‘growth machine theory’ and ‘GSU Convocation Tour’ and a ‘personal experience’ box.

Students will submit 3 reflective submissions (worth 15 pts each) throughout the course.

Students are to express their thoughts and learnings via creative alternatives to

traditional essays. These submissions should analyze key concepts, personal insights

and connections to real-world applications discussed in class. Examples of

nontraditional expressions can include but are not limited to

    visual projects

    (infographics, concept maps, collages);

    media- based

    projects

    (video journal,

    podcast);

    digital creations

    (blog post, digital storytelling).

    experiential reflections

(field diary, service reflection). In addition to the creative product, a short summary

description of the submission should be included

Here I have added notes which need altering: BOX 1: Housing, Displacement & Homelessness

The World Cup will likely increase development and investment near downtown and major event areas, but that can also raise rent and push residents out. This class made me realize that revitalization can easily turn into displacement if the city isnt careful. I think Atlanta needs to plan for housing protections during the World Cup so the event doesnt create more pressure on already vulnerable communities.

BOX 2: Sustainability & Environmental Impact

A major event like the World Cup will bring more traffic, more waste, and a bigger environmental footprint. Ive started thinking about how Atlanta can balance the excitement of hosting with sustainability efforts, like reducing emissions, improving public transportation use, and creating long-term green strategies instead of temporary solutions. The goal shouldnt just be hosting successfully it should be leaving a positive environmental legacy.

    BOX 3: Transportation & Mobility

This focus area stands out to me the most personally. As an international student without a car, transportation in Atlanta has been one of the hardest parts of living here. Even on normal days, getting across the city can be slow and inconvenient, so I cant imagine how intense it will be during the World Cup. This class helped me see that transportation isnt just a logistics issue its an equity issue, because access determines who can actually participate in the city.

BOX 4: Community Engagement & Cultural Preservation

One of the biggest risks of the World Cup is that the city focuses so much on visitors that local communities get ignored. Atlanta has a strong culture and identity, and I think planning should include real community voices not just marketing. This course made me realize that if Atlanta wants the World Cup to be meaningful, it should protect and celebrate local culture instead of allowing development to erase it.

BOX 5: Social Justice & Economic Equity

The World Cup will bring money into Atlanta, but the real question is: who benefits? This class helped me understand how large events often benefit big businesses and powerful stakeholders the most, while small businesses and marginalized communities can be left out. I think Atlanta needs intentional strategies to make sure the World Cup creates opportunities for local workers, minority-owned businesses, and communities that historically have not benefited from major development.

BOX 6: Growth Machine Theory (Power & Decision-Making)

Learning about Growth Machine Theory completely changed how I look at the World Cup and Atlantas development plans. It explains how cities often treat growth like it automatically benefits everyone, even when the outcomes are unequal.

    KH7785 – Theoretical Frameworks

Now, when I hear the World Cup described as a major opportunity for Atlanta, I think more critically about who is driving those decisions and who is expected to sacrifice in the process. This theory helped me connect the World Cup to issues like displacement, transportation access, and economic inequality, and it made me realize that these impacts are not accidents. They are often built into the way cities prioritize growth and investment.

UPDATED BOX 3: Transportation & Mobility (MORE PERSONAL)

This focus area stands out to me the most because I experience Atlanta transportation in a really personal way. As an international student without a car, I rely heavily on MARTA, walking, and ride shares, and Ive learned how difficult it can be to get across the city. Some places feel accessible, but other areas feel almost impossible without a car, and travel time can be unpredictable. Thinking about the World Cup, I honestly worry about how Atlanta will handle the increase in crowds, traffic, and visitors who also wont have cars. This class helped me realize transportation isnt just a logistics issue its an equity issue, because access determines who can participate in the city.

UPDATED BOX 6: Growth Machine Theory (WITH YOUR POV BUILT IN)

Learning about Growth Machine Theory changed how I look at the World Cup because it made me realize that city planning decisions arent neutral. The theory explains how cities treat growth like its automatically good, even when the benefits are uneven, and how powerful stakeholders influence decisions because they gain from increased land value and development.

    KH7785 – Theoretical Frameworks

As someone who depends on public transportation, Ive realized that the people most affected by these decisions are often the ones with the least power. When Atlanta invests in projects tied to the World Cup, I think about whether those investments will actually improve everyday life for residents or if they are mainly designed to impress visitors and generate profit.

OPTIONAL: Add a tiny personal note box (super cute in Canva)

My Experience Living in Atlanta Without a Car

Living in Atlanta without a car has made me more aware of how transportation shapes opportunity. The World Cup will bring global attention, but it also highlights everyday challenges residents already face. It made me think about how mega-events should improve access for the people who live here not just create a temporary experience for tourists.

UPDATED BOX 4: Community Engagement & Cultural Preservation (ATL CULTURE + MUSIC)

One thing I keep thinking about with the World Cup is how Atlanta is going to present itself to the world. Atlanta has such a strong culture especially through music, food, neighborhoods, and local communities and I think its important that the city doesnt sanitize itself just to impress visitors. The World Cup should highlight what makes Atlanta Atlanta, not turn it into a generic tourist version of the city. This class helped me realize that cultural preservation is part of social impact, because when development happens too fast, it can erase the people and places that created the culture in the first place. Maybe list this box as “KEEP ATLANTA ATLANTA”

Overall, I just don’t know how to use canva so just need it creating alongside a 1 page summary explaining the mindmap and what I have learned in the class thus far.

  • Research and EBP Proposal

Instructions for the Basic Research or EBP Proposal To fully appreciate and gain a deeper understanding of the research and EBP process, students will write a six-to-seven-page basic research or evidence-based practice project proposal. The paper will be completed in drafts and submitted along with drafts of the Evidence Analysis Grid (EAG). Peer review and the EAG will be used to assist in writing the proposal. The review of the literature will be the first draft. The proposal will be typed in APA format including the following components. The Methods section may be bulleted. Initial steps: A. The first step is to identify a problem and create a PICOT question and use the terms in the PICOT as your search terms for your data base searches. Keep track of your search terms, the number of hits received, the number of articles reviewed, the number included and why, and the number rejected and why. (I have provided the Johns Hopkins instrument in the folder on Bb for this assignment to help you track this information). B. Include the essential information from each article included in your EAG. C. Assess the quality and quantity of your evidence. What does the literature say about the problem? Is there is a good amount of quality evidence that is consistent in the outcomes? If Yes you have an EBP project and you will be completing an EBP project proposal. If the answer is No, or if there is inconsistency in the literature, this means there is a gap in the literature, and you will be completing a research proposal. If you have a research proposal, then you must determine if a qualitative or quantitative design is the best way to approach the problem. (A synthesis grid is not required for this assignment but it does help with this assessment. If you would like to explore how to convert your EAG to a synthesis grid, please ask for assistance.) D. Items A through C above are all completed by reading and analyzing the literature, and writing the literature review, so getting into the literature is essential and the first step. Getting into the weeds: 1. Literature Review The first draft due with the draft EAG in class for the first Writing Workshop on 2/12/26. 2. The second draft (which should include a substantial amount done on Literature Review) with EAG is due to the Professor via the Assignment Drop Box on 3/5/26. 3. Schedule of draft submissions: 4. The next draft along with additional work done on the EAG is due for peer review in the Writing Workshop scheduled for 3/26/26. In this workshop the Literature Review and EAG should be very well developed. Based upon this information the student should begin to plan either a research proposal or an EBP project. If not done prior, this workshop should focus on the Purpose, Significance, definition of terms, & possibly the theoretical framework (if research) or EBP model (if an EBP project) and the proposed design. Edits from peer feedback from 3/26/26 will be incorporated and – 5. Revisions to the proposal (fourth draft) and EAG from 3/26/26 will be submitted via Drop Box to the professor on 4/2/26. 6. Submit the Final Proposal on 4/30/26 to the professor. NOTE: The professor is not obligated to read or provide feedback on drafts submitted late. Late draft submissions may not receive timely feedback or may not receive any feedback. Components of the Proposal: Title of the Proposal – The title should be clear and succinct. Abstract -10% Abstract your proposal after you have finished writing the proposal. This is the last piece of the puzzle and it gets a page all its own. The abstract should include the Background, Purpose, Intervention, Data to be collected, and any potential limitations. Introduction/Background In about one paragraph, provide some background information about this clinical problem. Purpose/Research Question(s)/Hypothesis: State the Purpose of the Proposal in clear and concise terms. Only include a hypothesis if it is necessary and do not include one if you are proposing a qualitative design or if this will be an EBP proposal. Significance State why this proposed study/project is needed. This is the so what factor. If you cannot clearly and logically state the importance and value of the study/project, then why consider it? Definition of Terms – Define the major terms/concepts in your study/project theoretically and operationally. A theoretical definition is the definition of the term or concept according to your intended use in the proposal. The operational definition is how the term or concept will be measured. Example: Depression (you could use the DSM definition with citation) or your own definition as to how you intend to use the term. This would be your theoretical definition. Depression will be determined as a score of 9 or above on the PHQ-9 (citation) for the purposes of this project. This would be your operational definition because this is how you are operationalizing (measuring) the concept of depression. The Background through to the Definition of Terms should encompass one or two pages of the paper. This section of the paper is worth 15%. Theoretical Framework-Explain the theoretical framework or EBP model for this project. Please note, theoretical frameworks/models are not usually included in qualitative research studies because qualitative research usually generates theory. However, for the purposes of this paper, everyone will include a theoretical framework or EBP model. Explain this in one paragraph. 10% Literature Review Introduction Use this section to introduce the reader to the review of the literature. Include the search terms you used to conduct your search, the number of hits you received, the number of articles reviewed, the number included in the review, and explain why they were included, and the reasons for the excluded articles. This is usually one paragraph. You could also demonstrate this and eliminate some of the narrative using a PRISMA flow diagram. 1. All sources should be peer reviewed and published within the previous 5 years. You may include: 1. One clinical article 2. One expert opinion (position statement, clinical practice guideline, lit review, scoping review, integrative review) 3. One publication may be older than 5 years 4. The rest must be research publications – ideally of the highest level of evidence if you are considering an EBP proposal or multiple types of research studies if you think you will be doing a research proposal. Body of the Literature Review- In this section briefly discuss the literature reviewed including only the most salient information. Try not to present each article separately. It is better to integrate and synthesize the information so the reader can clearly understand how the evidence you are presenting, supports the proposal. If you have different focused areas, identify them using subheadings. Summary Summarize/synthesize the literature reviewed. Synthesize it so it justifies the need for the project you are proposing. This should be about a paragraph, but can be a little longer if necessary. This section should be at about two pages of text. 30% Methods This section of the paper may be bulleted due to the time constraints in this class. Design- State the design of the study/project, and explain the rationale for the design chosen. Examples for research proposal designs include Qualitative Research using a phenomenological method, or another design might be Qualitative using Grounded Theory, etc. Quantitative Research using a descriptive survey; Quantitative using a cross-sectional design; Quantitative using an experimental method; Quantitative using quasi-experimental method; etc. If you plan to use both methods it would be a Mixed-methods design. Examples for EBP project designs typically use a Quality Improvement method. Setting and Sample- State where the project will take place. Describe the sample population (inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria) and explain how they will be recruited. Intervention What do you plan to do? Explain it here. Data Collection Clearly state the data that will be collected and how it will be collected. Include the demographic data you plan to collect. Instrumentation/Measures Explain you data collection instrument(s). Include validity and reliability statistics/information. Data Analysis State the statistical analysis that will be used to analyze the data. Protection for Human Participants State that IRB approval will be obtained. Discuss each of the following: Risks: Benefits: Compensation: Alternatives: Autonomy: Confidentiality: Informed Consent: Explain if informed consent will be obtained. Threats and Limitations Are there any known threats or limitations to this proposed project/study. If so include them here. Try to keep this section to two pages and no more than three. 20% Conclusions Summarize the proposal in one paragraph its purpose, significance, what will be done, and what this study/project is intended to accomplish. 5% References 5% APA Format followed: 5% Total = 100% APA format NO plagiarism. double space. 3 references needed. no chat, NO ai, no plagerism. APA 7th. use author and date when using info. include include Ana ethic nursing book in site as well and bring in nursing. and 3 reference no encyclopedia!!

    Directions

    Initial Post

Read through the answer postings and responses already posted by classmates. Choose one and only one question that has not been answered previously. Once a question has been answered, it is no longer eligible for you to answer, and will not earn you any points should you post an answer to it.

    1. Write the question number in your subject line
    2. Copy the question itself in your message body

    Discussion Questions

Choose one question below that has not been answered by your peers:

    2. How does a normal and standard normal distribution differ? Graphs are encouraged with your written explanation.
    3. Explain the difference in shapes between a distribution with a mean of 1 and a standard deviation of 2, versus one with a mean of 2 and standard deviation of 1. What would happen if you converted both of them to the standard normal distribution?
    4. State the Empirical Rule. How does it differ from Chebyshevs Theorem, and how is it the same?
    5. For a standard normal distribution, what percentage of the total area is contained within -1 to +2 standard deviations of the mean? How did you determine this?
    6. What is the difference between a data value and a z-score? Explain the process for finding a z-score, as well as its meaning.
    7. If I know that
    8. and
    9. for a data set, and that
    10. is a data point, what is the equivalent z-score?
    11. I am teaching two classes of statistics this semester. Class A had a mean of 67 with a standard deviation of 7 for Exam 1. Meanwhile, Class 1 had a mean of 75 and a standard deviation of 10 for Exam 1. There was a student in each class that earned a 70. How can I compare these two scores to each other. What assumptions must be made?
    12. When I was hired by Park, internet research told me that the average salary was $62,000 with a standard deviation of $8,000. If I negotiated an annual salary of $54,000, how did I do? What salary would you have attempted to negotiate for and why?
