    The topic for this week’s discussion revolves around promotions in sports. First, please access the following promotional video advertisement found on YouTube.

    After accessing the video, search for a promotional video of your own for a sports product; such as a sports team, sporting event, sport equipment, or sport apparel organization. Please check the discussion and select a video that has not been previously posted by any of your classmates. After posting your video link (also identify, e.g. the company/athlete in the video); using bullet points, provide the following:

    • Describe the sport product being marketed and promoted.
    • Describe what target market you believe this promotional video was made for.
    • Is this video effective? If so, how?
    • Perform a SWOT analysis on the overall video promotion.
    • Describe suggestions for improving this promotion.

  • Netflix employee motivation and organizational culture

    By now you’ve read the one-page summary from the 2023 text (p 169) about how Netflix motivates employees with high expectations and high accountability. You’ve also read the article in HRReview and the memo Netflix posted on their own website (link to Netflix job website hereLinks to an external site.). An outsider with little Organizational Behavior knowledge might be horrified by Netflix’ approach to culture. They might imagine employees coming to work everyday with high levels of anxiety and distrust. It all sounds very stressful and undesirable. However, how does one explain their high levels of employee satisfaction and such low employee turnover? Link: Book: 2025 New Release Organizational Behavior by Colquitt Jason chapter 6&7 If it is well-known within the company and even on the outside that Netflix will fire anyone who does not consistently earn “A’s” then why are the employees so happy? How do they not all have ulcers if they seemingly have such tenuous job security? On this discussion board please give your thoughts as to why that might be. Please try to use terminology from chapters 6 & 7 including: Motivation, self-efficacy, expectancy theory, goal setting theory, equity theory, trust, justice, ethics, and any other concepts from those chapters. Your post should be brief and you do not need to use all of the terms, but your answer should be justified by concepts from the chapters. Hearing your personal experience (if you’ve been in this situation) is helpful too!

    For this discussion, you will be introduced to the PICO process. You will be exploring the evidence that informs you best about each criterion applied to the PICO process. Use the PICO format to present your clinical topic. You can discuss each P-I-C-O criterion in a paragraph format. First, the P in PICO directs you to recognize a problem and the population that you have witnessed, experienced, or just read about and it interests you. Include statistical data the proves this is a problem and in addition, reflect on your own opinion about the people and the problem. Next, identify one I in PICO which is an intervention. The intervention should improve the problem or reduce the risk of worsening symptoms or occurrences. Include the pathophysiology of the medication and this should show the reader why your intervention may work. Now, C in PICO which is compare what is presently being implemented to address the problem you have identified. Perhaps nothing is being done or maybe you are changing medications or adding additional medication to what is presently being done. Compare means that you identify what is being done now before you test your new intervention on the problem. See the examples below. Finally, write out the O in PICO, which is an outcome. An outcome statement is part of the nursing process and CJMM. It is specific to the subject (patient), the action under expected performance, and the time frame. An outcome is measurable. The criterion for this discussion is as follows: PICO Criteria PICO Criteria Topic Include the evidence in a paragraph format P – Population/Problem The population that experiences a problem such as MI, angina, a specific dysrhythmia, a coagulation problem or are at risk for a medication error. Define the populations and problem. Include evidence such as statistics as to incidence or occurrence. This proves it is a problem. Include what causes this problem such as the pathophysiology for a disease or disorder. If you choose medication errors, then you would explain the actions by the nurse that could result in a patient safety event. I – Intervention What may fix or reduce the problem. This needs to be a medication that may prevent or treat a cardiovascular problem or one strategy that could reduce the risk of a medication error depending on the problem you identify. Explain the intervention. If the intervention is medication, explain the pathophysiology of the medication so the reader knows why it may be effective. Include the therapeutic classification and pharmacologic class of the medication as well as actions and uses. If it is a strategy to reduce the risk of a medication error, explain what this one strategy is and how it may be effective. Please do not select a staffing change as an intervention as you are not in a role to implement this complicated change. C – Comparator/Compare What is being done now before you start your intervention. Write a statement of what is being done now. Perhaps the patient is managing a disorder by diet only so the addition of a medication would compare to diet only. Or Perhaps now one nurse is calculating incorrectly so a two nurse check may work best and reduce the risk of a medication error. O – Outcome What is the effect you want to occur? Remember, an outcome is specific to the subject (patient), the action, under expected performance and the time frame. This is measurable. Write an outcome statement for example: The patient will maintain a strong, regular radial pulse at a rate of 60-90/min in 24 hours. The patient’s episode of chest pain will be resolved in 5 min. The patient will experience a weight loss of 1 kg in a 24 hour period. Medication errors that reach the patient will be reduced in the specified environment over a one month period.

    Once you have chosen one of the first two essays to revise and expand for Final Revision #1, complete the first part of the

    , labeled “Current”; the easiest way to do this is to copy and paste each sentence of your essay into the appropriate place in the template.REMINDERS:

    As you are completing the template, remember the following:

    • Only one sentence per item in the outline. The outline is expandable, so add as needed.
    • Be accurate in where you are putting sentences.
    • For a line that says support, only quotes, examples, statistics, or other source material goes there.
    • Explanation is where you are explaining the relevance and/or analyzing the support.
    • Any missing item must be labeled as “MISSING”; this will become important when you are completing the second part of the outline template.
    • Any sentences that contain more than one idea may need to be broken up into their own sentences to eliminate confusion.

    When you finish the “Current” section of the template, revise your essay. Use the first part of the outline template to guide you into what needs to be filled in, what needs to be reorganized, and what needs to be completely revised. Your final revision of the essay will need to ensure that nothing in the essay is missing.

    PART II:

    When you complete the revision, the second part of the Outline Template will be your double-check to make sure you have filled in any missing items and that your organization is sound and unified.

    As you did with the “Current” version of the outline, copy and paste from the revised draft into the “Revised” section of the outline template. Again, it is expandable and should follow the reminders listed above for the first part; however, this time, anything missing needs to be filled in to ensure the essay is complete.

    MAIN PART——

    Students will choose which of the first two essays they want to revise and submit for a grade. Whichever draft you choose must then be expanded from the original assignment by adding additional sources if needed. The final draft of this essay must be a minimum of 6 pages (1500-1800 words–meaning at least six pages plus an additional page for the Works Cited).

    Once you have completed the revision, please do the before completing the workshop and again, after you have revised from the workshop and prior to turning in the final draft.

    The Works Cited page is part of the grade so will be factored into the essay grade when I read them. It must meet the requirements of the respective essay assignment. Make sure it follows all of the MLA guidelines in the EasyWriter.
