    Week 5 Reflection Discussion

This discussion assignment provides a forum for you to reflect on the past week’s experiences in this course. Reflection is a hallmark of professional practice. The process of reflection promotes professional growth and development. Active and thoughtful reflection is a useful approach for processing new information and integrating into your professional role.

For this assignment, make sure you post your response to the Discussion Area by the due date assigned. You are NOT required to respond to peers. You will receive full credit if you post prior to the deadline AND you include a thoughtful reflection to all required question(s).

Post your major takeaway from this week’s content (3-4 sentences) by the due date. Include your text as a reference.

  • Ansley_Sprenkle_Nonverbal&Verbal_Outline

I will attach an annotated bibliography to guide the content in the outline. The sources I would like used will be in there. This paper will be about Foundations, Elements, Principles of Interpersonal Communication: Verbal and Non-verbal. It’s more of a research paper than an argumentative paper. Below are the instructions my professor has given me.

    • This will be a thorough and well-developed outline of your research paper.
    • Include the purpose and thesis of your paper as well as show consideration for the audience.
    • Formatting, structure, and grammar as well as content are important to this assignment. This assignment should be 2-3 pages.
    • Be sure to use APA format.

  • Module 5 SCS 285 Milestone 3 assignment

In this assignment, you will craft three potential research questions for your research problem.

    Prompt

Now that you have chosen your resources and examined the influence of the methodologies and data-collection types on research, its time to use your resources to craft research questions. In Project Three: Research Questions, which is due in Module Eight, you will need to create a research question that addresses a particular research problem and explain your development process. To prepare yourself to explain your development process, think about your research problem, not a specific study, and then complete the following:

    Crafting Questions

Craft research questions that would require the researcher to use a particular research methodology. Complete each of the following:

    • Craft a qualitative research question.
    • Be sure your research question captures your research problem and requires using a qualitative approach to answer the question.
    • Craft a quantitative research question.
    • Be sure your research question captures your research problem and requires using a quantitative approach to answer the question.
    • Craft a mixed-methodology research question.
    • Be sure your research question captures your research problem and requires using a mixed-methodology approach to answer the question.

    Examination of Questions

Now that you have crafted a research question that would require a particular research methodology, answer each of the following to help choose which research question you will examine further in Project Three in Module Eight:

    • Which research question do you think best captures the research problem you would like to explore?
    • Remember: Youre not actually performing this research studyyoure just thinking about the research question that you would like to dig into if you were going to conduct a research study.
    • Does one of your research questions seem to represent the types of research questions in your field of study more than the others?
    • Is there anything you noticed about the creation of these research questions? Was there something that surprised you in their creation? What stood out to you as you were crafting each question?

Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:

    1. Craft a qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methodology research question about a specific research problem.
    2. Examine research questions in order to select a complex question.

  • Week 2 Adverse Events

    Instructions:

Read the attached article, ‘Investigating Adverse Events in Long-Term Care Facilities’ (Module 2 reading). Then review the following mini-case study scenario and answer the critical thinking questions.

Deliverables to be uploaded into the drop box

    • A PowerPoint presentation with an embedded video of you presenting your information or a voice-over
    • PDF of the peer-reviewed article you found to support your operational solution

    Mini-Case Study Scenario:

You are the Patient Safety and Quality Coordinator for a long-term care facility. Your facility has recently experienced an increase in adverse events related to falls and medication errors, resulting in resident harm and survey deficiencies. Leadership is prioritizing the improvement of patient safety culture and practices across the facility. You have been asked to draft a brief action plan describing how your facility can investigate and reduce adverse events to improve resident outcomes.

    Critical Thinking and Solution Identification:

    1. Using 5-Why root cause analysis, identify at least two root causes of the adverse events occurring in your facility (one related to falls, one related to medication errors) and explain why these errors or gaps occur.
    2. Describe two specific programmatic or operational changes your facility could implement to reduce adverse events in alignment with patient safety improvement frameworks.
    3. Explain how data/information technology could be used to monitor and report progress on your plan to reduce adverse events.
    4. Discuss how your plan would help the facility meet applicable accreditation or licensing standards related to patient safety and quality in long-term care.
    5. Cite at least one relevant point from the assigned article to justify your proposed approach. Cite the point in APA format within the text of your presentation and as part of a reference page/slide at the end of the presentation.
    6. Find a supporting reference to your suggested operational change. The article must be peer-reviewed and from a source ranked on the JANE journal guide (https://jane.biosemantics.org/faq.php). Cite your supporting point in APA format.

  • Week 5 Case Study

    Week 5 Case Study

Students in their first graduate level pharmacology course are confused with the recommendations for hypertension (HTN) and treatment choices after ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and with heart failure (HF). The drugs used several years ago and still seen commonly on the acute care floors the students work are not the ones now assuming a stronger role in cardiac health issues. For one, the primary order of which meds are selected for an initial level of blood pressure control has seemed to change.

Help your fellow students by explaining the following changes.

    1. Which classification of drugs has taken the first-choice role in most patients with early hypertension? Is it wrong to select a thiazide diuretic or a beta blocker as was once done?
    2. Is there another primary choice for African American patients? Why?

  • Business Law Question

Requires six (6) pages of analysis. Each reaction paper counts as five percent (5%) of your grade. This is not a creative essay. Please show me you actually read the assignment closely [For example, you might write, on page 12 the author says xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Then, tell me your thoughts and analysis of the quote and why it is important or not in your personal opinion. Please show me at least ten (10) page numbers from the assigned reading where you believe a significant statement is made. Please use Microsoft Word, double spaced, 12-point font, no title page or footnotes required. Points will be reduced for papers that are not stapled. Only official university absences are acknowledged. Otherwise, late assignments will not be accepted for any reason; you may submit assignments as early as you desire, without penalty. If you plan to be absent from class or have any other circumstances that may prevent you from submitting your assignment on time, you need to submit your assignment early. You must submit work both to eCourses and before class, on-paper. ONLY THOSE ASSIGNMENTS SUBMITTED ON PAPER, ON-TIME WILL BE GRADED. Note that the purpose of the assignments is for you to read the articles and react to them. The study of law requires actual reading to absorb. Accordingly, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for reaction papers is considered plagiarism and consequences for any such use may include, but not be limited to, a zero (0) for the class along with more serious consequences to be determined by the University. Using AI is of no utility for these assignments since you are presenting your own thoughts and not an explanation of the article or anyone elses thoughts regarding the article or its contents.
