CD125 week 9

Instructions:

  1. Gather your materials (5points) You can use store-bought bubbles or make your own (a simple mixture of Dawn dish soap and water works well). For credit document what type of bubbles you used in your reflection.
  2. Play like a child (5points) Step into the shoes of a preschooler and play with bubbles outdoors on a large scale. Imagine how a child would discover, experiment, and interact with the bubbles. Document in your reflection write up for credit. Consider:
    • How does a child figure out how to use the bubbles?
    • What happens as they play with them?
    • What kind of questions might they ask?
    • What comments or reactions might they have?
    • What physical skills are being developed (e.g., hand-eye coordination, breath control, gross/fine motor skills)?
  3. Reflect and write (5points) After your play session, write a one-page response discussing the different ways children learn through bubble play. Address the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial aspects of development:
    • Physical Development: What motor skills are being practiced?
    • Cognitive Development: How does playing with bubbles encourage problem-solving, curiosity, and discovery?
    • Psychosocial Development: How might children express emotions, engage with peers, or practice communication during bubble play?
