For your final project, you will be an I/O consultant preparing to advise a manager or CEO on a topic directly relevant to their organization.

You will be researching a specific topic related to I/O Psychology that would be useful and informative for a company’s manager or CEO. You will synthesize your findings from the research literature and present them as if you were advising that manager or CEO on the topic.

First, you will need to find at least four journal articles on your chosen topic and write an annotated bibliography summarizing each article. Finally, you will synthesize your findings in a 3- to 4-page APA abstract outlining what you found, the pros and cons of your research, and your recommendation to the manager or CEO regarding this topic within their organization.

For example, you might select several articles on workplace violence and write an annotated bibliography for each, summarizing their main points in non-research-based language, including agreements and disagreements about particular findings. Next, the summary document should explain why this particular topic is important to the workplace and how the organization’s leaders and employees can use the information. It will also make suggestions for the organization based on the results of your research. The document should be presented professionally, with a clear and well-formatted layout, free of spelling and grammatical errors, and presented in a clear and structured manner.

Annotated Bibliography:

This bibliography should include the four research articles you will use for your work. These articles must be on the topic previously approved for the research summary. For each article, you must provide:

Second: Summary Document

Your work should not simply be a summary of your articles (as you did in the annotated bibliography). Rather, it should be geared toward professionals who don’t have in-depth research knowledge but do have some understanding of management and organizations. You could pretend you’re the human resources director of a company and are presenting to a group of managers. Your summary paper should convey the information gleaned from the research literature in an organized manner and present an argument for why it’s important for managers to pay attention to this topic. I’d also like to see you make some recommendations for action.

APA Style: All presentations must be written in APA format. This basically means that references must be in APA style, all assignments must be written in 12-point font, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins.

Final Project Evaluation

The annotated bibliography provided at least 4 articles with substantial abstracts (without direct quotations): 30 points

Abstract/Reaction Paper: minimum of 3 full pages (without direct quotations): 30 points

Grammar and spelling at a college level: 10 points

It is when you place the source in parentheses ( ) immediately after the quoted sentence instead of waiting until the end of the article. It helps the reader know exactly which sentences and paragraphs are taken from particular sources.

Place the author’s name and the publication date of the source in parentheses immediately after the quoted material. If it is a direct quotation, also include the page number. For example:

Psychology is defined as the science of behavior and mental processes (Coon 2012, p. 12).

Helpful tips:

* Always use spell check and grammar check.

* Be sure to indent paragraphs (5 spaces).

* Balance: Each paragraph should be of a similar length.

* Review the video and the APA resource in Student Resources at the beginning of the course.

* You can submit your work to the university’s Writing Center for review and any formatting assistance you may need.

Your Word document summary, including your annotated bibliography, must be uploaded to the Final Project link during week three (3).

Remember to use the annotated bibliography within the text and include it on the last page of your document (references page).

All original written work must include a cover page. The assignment must be presented according to the guidelines and principles of content, form, and style of the American Psychological Association (APA), latest edition. Remember that APA style requires double spacing, not extra double spacing between paragraphs, a font size of #12, Times New Roman or Arial font only, and 1-inch margins on all four sides. Do not copy directly from the internet; all citations must conform to APA style. Remember to include bibliographic citations within the text. You must also include the bibliography at the end of your discussion. Please do not consult sources such as Wikipedia, Monographs, or Gestipolis. Use professional sources that include the author’s name(s) and publication date. The evaluation of submitted work will be based on the following criteria: content, clarity, quality of sources used, grammar, citation of authors, and others.

NOTE: SafeAssignment:

Before submitting your assignment in the Assignment Box, you must review it using SafeAssignment, located in the left-hand column of your webpage. In the Cover Page section, once you obtain the similarity score for your work, click on “Originality” in the upper left corner. This page will show you the similarity score and the sources from which you copied and pasted the information. You must copy and paste this entire report (which is your own report) into a Word document, which you will submit in the Assignment Box along with your Weekly Assignment.

If the similarity score is greater than 20%, you will have to redo the work without copying and pasting direct concepts from the author(s), even if you have formatted your citations according to APA style. You must make an effort to use your own words and ideas based on your understanding of the book or articles consulted after reading them, and cite the original sources from which you obtained the information perfectly in APA format, so that the similarity score is less than 20%.

If the similarity score is less than 20%, it is an acceptable limit, and the work will be ready to be submitted to the instructor.
