Theatre, The Lively Art
Chapter One introduces several key concepts. The video in this section is based on my lecture notes and covers all of the key terms and ideas in this chapter, which explains the following concepts and terms: non-mediated theatre, regional theatre, community theatre, site-specific theatre, performance art, global theatre and multi-cultural theatre.
The chapter also explores the idea that there are elements of theatricality in many areas of of daily lives. Can you think of any?
Post your notes in the text box below. You should post notes after every chapter. Your notes should be based on the video and include an overview of the chapter and show your understanding of each of the key terms.
Thanks for watching!

Performance Art: Here are links to two of my favorite performance artists, John Leguizamo and Anna Deveare Smith. They are very different in tone, style, and content but also share a lot in common. Both artists create the entire show and play all the roles.
