RESEARCH PAPER ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS

The research paper should incorporate Biblical worldview of some topic of a natural and

dynamic system. There are several dynamic natural systems arround us. For example, flying

birds, moving water or river, a moving cloud, suns or other planets motion relative to the earth,

a fish moving in water etc. In this paper, you will be selecting a natural dynamic system and

discuss the system based on the following points:

a) Describe the path(s) of motion of the component(s) and select appropriate coordinate

axes to describe the motion. Discuss why the selected coordinate axes are best to describe

the motion of the selected system.

b) Discuss the importance of the dynamic system and its motion for the functionality of

other systems that depend on it. State any assumptions.

c) Draw (sketch or use software) free-body and kinetic diagrams of the system. Use

appropriate kinematics and kinetics equations and write equation of motion for the

system using the selected coordinates.

d) Romans 1:20 says For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his

eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has

been made, so that people are without excuse. Does the dynamic natural system you

selected indicate the existence of a supernatural being? Why or why not? Also comment

on the intelligence of the design of the system and its benefit to humanity.

Deliverables/Expectations:

e) Your writing should be well-organized and free of grammar, punctuation, and spelling

errors. Your paper should have the following components:

Professional cover page (with title, course name, project name, university name, and

date of submission)

Summary/Abstract (standalone)

Introduction/Body

Conclusions (a standalone conclusion containing a brief summary of the paper’s main

points)

Bibliography (at least four of your references should be peer reviewed articles:

Journal publications, conference proceedings, books.)

f) Number of words: 1500-2000 word write-up, not counting your bibliography.

g) Your report should include sufficient illustrations/figures to describe your selected system.

Pictures/figures should have labels and captions.

h) Your written submittal should have APA formatting and reference style.

o The sources of pictures/figures/tables should be cited using APA and displayed next

to captions.

o Each picture/figure/table should be referred and discussed within the text.
