For this discussion, we, as a class will investigate the context of artworks, through research, and discuss how these factors could have or did influence the artwork itself. (Specific details below)
From the artworks below, select just one artist to investigate:

- After you have made your selection of which artwork to investigate, being researching the artist’s background, and the complete context (ie. personal, historical, cultural, etc.) that the artwork was made in.

- “Research” means that you find more information from credible sources of information; such as educational resources (like ), Museum websites have fantastic resources, online encyclopedias (likeWikipedia), or other Art related publications (like Art Forum, Art in America, Sculpture magazine, and so on).
- Avoid blogs, reddit posts, and social media platforms as they are not considered to be reliable sources of information.

- You can share as a written response (150-200 words) or video/audio response (up to 4 minutes).
- (1) Share what you found. Include at leastthree contextual facts/situations from the artists life or their surroundings. You must in include specific information about both the artist and their artwork(s) in your post. Include citations (where your information came from).
- (2) Share your Opinion of how that information influenced the artwork’s making or how it influences our interpretation of the artwork.
