You will assume the role of an aide to a health care administrator who has recently acquired a health care organization. You will role-play in this assumed position, selecting a work environment from the following: Major hospital system, substance use rehabilitation center, physical rehabilitation facility, urgent care facility, reproductive health clinic, medical device manufacturer, public health nonprofit organization, or state department of health (other environments allowed with instructor approval). You will assist your administrator by drafting a memorandum for the organization. This memorandum will consist of a five-item employee code of conduct, based on policies regarding employee-employee behaviors and/or employee-patient/client behaviors and a separate five-item employee bill of rights section regarding policies for workplace protections. Provide a brief point for each item, with rationale and supporting evidence to build trust and confidence within a healthcare organization through mutual respect and servant-leader policymaking. The employee bill of rights section should consider your selected work environment and specific or tailored variables (e.g., OSHA factors for medical manufacturing). Each point in the employee bill of rights should contain guidance for an employee seeking assistance, reporting, or filing a complaint if that element is violated.
