professor feedback :One strategy that may help is leaning closely on the PIE Structure as you draft each body paragraph. Start by making sure your Point clearly states the main idea or claim of the paragraph rather than simply introducing the article topic. In the Illustration section, choose a quote or example that directly supports that point, but remember that summary should only provide enough context for your audience to understand the evidence and your discussion of it. You do not need to retell the entire article or explain every detail. The most important part is the Explanation section, which is where your analysis happens. This is where you craft what the quote means for your audience by explaining why the evidence matters, what it reveals, how it connects back to your thesis, or what effect it creates. A helpful goal is making your Explanation section at least as long as, or longer than, the quote itself. You might also try asking yourself questions after each quote like What does this show? Why is this important? or What should my audience understand from this? to help push your thinking deeper.
