Describe human psychological development across the lifespan.
Scenario
You are an intern at a mental health clinical. The clinical psychologist would like to create some handouts for patients to read while they sit in the waiting room. The clinic serves a wide variety of patients coming in to seek counseling services. The two handouts you are being asked to create are for human development and grief.
Instructions
First handout:
- Considering what you learned in this module, which theory do you think better represents human development? Pick either Piagets Theory of Cognitive Development or Eriksons Theory of Psychosocial Development. The theory you choose will represent the clinics approach to human development.
- Create a handout for patients that describes the main stages of your chosen theory.
- Include an explanation of why this theory was chosen over the other choice.
Second handout:
- The second handout will focus on grief using the Kubler-Ross Stages of Grief.
- Explain the stages of grief.
- Include tips to cope during each of these stages.
Assessment/Submission Requirements
Two separate handouts using your application of choice (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Be as creative as you like to make these handouts engaging for patients.
