Example of the students DO NOT Copy
The topic that I have chosen is how relationships relate to communication. I will make this topic relevant culturally by highlighting how relationships can differ in different cultures, for instance how some may consider someone a friend for different reasons than others may or how relationship dynamics change on different cultures. I will relate it personally by bringing up real life situations that show how miscommunication may occur due to the closeness between people, while bringing up references to times ots happened in my life. It is important to show my sources when doing my speech for the group presentation because it not only prevents plagiarism, but it also helps to prove my sources to be credible. It helps to acknowledge that i know what im talking about due to the research done for the topic, and it shows that the information is backed up by other sources and not spoken on assumptions. This way the audience will be able to listen to the information, understand it, believe it, and know that it is true and proven. The advantage of working in groups, especially in the work place, is that it can help others to clarify what is spoken, for example, they can help explain what someone else is try to say or ask from you. It also gives you people who may be able to help you understand a source you researched and correct your work.
Another example of student DO NOT Copy
I choose this topic, Safety Around Water (Pools, Lakes, or Other Water Sources)
Making the Topic Relevant:
This topic is relevant culturally, socially, and personally because children are often around water at home, parks, or community pools. Water safety is a concern for families across all backgrounds, and sharing this knowledge can help prevent accidents and injuries. The audience can learn practical safety rules, understand the risks of unsupervised water activities, and gain strategies to keep children safe in different water settings.
Importance of Including Sources:
Including credible sources in our presentation ensures that the information we provide is accurate, trustworthy, and evidence-based. It strengthens our credibility as presenters and allows the audience to access reliable references if they want to learn more. Proper citation also models academic integrity and avoids plagiarism, which aligns with the course policies on honesty and ethical use of information.
Advantages of Working in Groups:
Working in groups allows members to combine strengths such as research skills, public speaking, creativity, and problem-solving. Group collaboration helps divide responsibilities, improves communication skills, and allows for diverse perspectives, which makes the final presentation stronger. In the workplace, these group communication skills translate to better teamwork, efficiency, and successful project outcomes.
