For this discussion forum, learners will examine and reflect on three prominent negotiation strategies by exploring their core techniques and how they align with individual negotiation styles and practices.

Instructions:

Negotiation strategies can vary widely based on the context, the negotiators involved, and the ultimate goals. Our reading address three widely recognized negotiation approaches (Getting to Yes, Getting More, and Never Split the Difference). Each of these strategies offers unique insights into how to achieve better outcomes in negotiations.

In your initial post, identify which of these strategies resonates most with your personal style or philosophy of negotiation. Then respond to the following questions:

  1. What are the techniques or tactics from your chosen strategy that you appreciate most? Why?
  2. What challenges do you for see in adopting these strategies and how could you overcome them?

For your two reply posts, provide additional insights or inquire about a peer’s choice of negotiation strategy. Or, your could compare the negotiation strategy your peer chose with one of the other two strategies.
