Understanding oneself and having self-awareness are important skills for an effective leader to cultivate. This includes understanding key components of your personality and strengths, as well as your challenges and opportunities for development. In this paper, synthesize the knowledge you learned about yourself from the VIA Character Strengths, the 16 Personalities, the AONL Leadership Competencies Self-Assessment, and key theoretical learnings. This paper should demonstrate critical reflection and synthesis, not just a description of assessment results. Students are expected to integrate personal insights with course concepts and relevant literature to support their analysis.
Course concepts include: foundational leadership theories in nursing such as Democratic or Egalitarian leadership, Autocratic Leadership, transactional leadership, transformational leadership, Servant Leadership, followership, human-centered leadership, and contingency theory.
Paper Format and Structure
- The paper should be 4-6 pages, double-spaced, excluding title page and references. APA format required.
- Include an introduction and a conclusion that synthesizes the key points of your paper.
- First person is acceptable for this reflective assignment.
