  • CO#8: Examine key components of Enterprise Project Management (EPM), Project Management Offices (PMO), and successful requirement engineering methods.

Week 2: Case Study

This weeks topic is Organizational Capabilities. From that perspective, read the case study at the end of our text Project Management: A Practical Guide to Planning and Managing Projects, Chapter 2.


Directions

Address the following questions:

1. What are the key issues surrounding this case?
2. What factors would have triggered the organization to engage a project management consultant in the first place?
3. What recommendations do you think Justin should put forward and how would each one benefit the project and the organization?
4. Justin identified a number of governance issues impacting the organizations project management practices. How could each of those cited be improved and what would be the direct benefit to the project and the organization?
5. What might the organization look like when it achieves Level 2 project management maturity? What metrics could be used to track progress?

  • Include a 250 – 500-word response for each question.
