Assessment Description

Every state is responsible for providing programs and services for English learners. To accomplish this, states must adhere to federal guidelines for properly identifying ELs when entering a school.

Complete the “Identifying English Learners” template, to answer frequently asked questions and reflect on identifying ELs and their needs in Arizona schools.

Part 1: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

In a minimum of 75 words per response, complete a 10-question FAQ regarding the identification, assessment, and diverse needs of ELs.

Part 2: Reflection

In a minimum of 200 words, reflect on the importance of properly identifying ELs and their needs to ensure they receive appropriate services and supports. Include how you plan to collaborate with other colleagues and professionals in your future school setting to support your EL students.
