- Alumni informational interviews reports
- Informational interviews are a great tool to gather information about a potential career path of interest. During an informational interview, your goal is to get an understanding for the skills, experience, and education necessary to be successful in that career path. Informational interviews should be conducted with people you would not normally have access to speak to.
For the purpose of this assignment, you will conduct two informational interviews with Lewis University Alumni who pursued a career path you are interested in pursuing. Alumni are a great resource as they are open to speaking to Lewis University students. You can speak with someone that is not an Alumnus of Lewis University, however, aim to speak with someone you are not familiar with. LinkedIn is a great resource to research and contact people.
There are not formal questions you will be provided for this assignment. The idea is for the conversation to flow naturally. Aim to ask them questions around their background (how did they get where they are?), the day-to-day responsibilities of the job, what do they like most/least about their role, etc.
You will need to submit a 3 5-page report on each of your interviews. In addition, please submit the contact information of the individuals you speak with.
