Proposal Draft: Research Topic & Design
During this module, you will begin to design a quantitative research study. The first step is to come up with a topic. This should be a topic thats interesting to you. It can be inspired by a problem at work, a news story youve read, or a conversation with fellow students. It just needs to be researchable.
Keep in mind that this discussion is directly related to a section of the Quantitative Research Proposal Paper.
Initial Post
Use the knowledge gained from your readings, videos, and other resources to help you complete each step in order to meet the ‘at standard’ grade according to the rubric. To start, write a description of your study by following the directions below.
- Choose a topic of research.
- Create a problem and a purpose statement.
- Create 1-2 research questions youd like to ask based on the problem.
- Set null and alternative hypothesis pair for each research question.
- Identify which design fits best to act as the framework for answering the research questions and give a rationale for why you think this is so. Cite your explanation.
