Purpose:
This project will give you the chance to develop your professionalism by completing a worthwhile activity to add to your rsum. It will also give you the opportunity to present information in a report format.
Topic:
For this project, you are expected to commit to eight (8) hours of a rsum-building activity. This activity should not be something for which you are earning money or course credit, and it should be a new activity that you can add to your rsum. Acceptable activities include volunteering or participating in a professional organization or club.
Upon completion of your activity, you will create an informational report that includes a log of your activities, photo evidence of your participation, a summary of your activity to be added to your rsum, and other relevant details about your experience.
Prewriting:
Decide early in the semester on your activity to allow time for completion. You may participate for short periods of time over the course of the semester or in brief bursts of activity, but you will want to plan ahead. Also, reviewing the sections pertaining to reports in your textbook will help you with the final submission.
Length/Format:
Your informational report should be two pages formatted as a memo addressed to me. It should include background information about the activit(y/ies) you have pursued, a log of your activities, photo evidence of your participation, and a summary of activities worthy of your rsum. You should design your report in a way that organizes your information well. Carefully consider fonts, layout, colors, images and other design principles to enhance the quality of your report.
Evaluation:
In this project, I will be expecting a clear and concise report that informs me of your personal activity and efforts in completing this task. The report will be evaluated according to the WPC Business Writing Rubric.
